when u open the hood would it trigger the alarm??

No it would not. That is y i went with an aftermarker alarm. There is nothing on the hood to trigger it. light or pin. The aftermarket alarm that i got (Lo jack with shock sensor) doesnt have a pin for the hood but if you where to do anything to my car anywhere it will alert once then if it happends again it will go off. Hope this helps.
