nope......Didnt you say in another post youve only been driving stick for 4 months,or was that someone else.I think you just need more time in the drivers seat. You MUST not be pushing straight up/forward for that to happen IMHO.

No problem whatsoever going into 3rd with my 02 SiR. You guys may want to have this checked nest time your car is in for service.

I don't have any problems with 3rd, or any other gear for that matter. Take SBCs advice and have someone look at it.

It could just be the adrenaline and tension when you're racing. That alone, can make you goof up sometimes.

yes that is possible so how bad is it for your car when you go from 2nd gear to 1st gear when your redlining? i know it cant be good i did this onetime is my car going to be screwed?

Well I'm not nearly as mechanically inclined as many of the members here but, I know that can't be good. Just don't let it happen again!

didn't you once say you missed shifted from 4th to 2nd? If so, I think you might want to lay off for a while till you learn how to drive this car. The shifter is perfect. It has quick precise shifts. I never have any problems with my shifts. When I first got my car, I thought third was not as smooth, but it was the way I was shifting. Don't slam the gears, if you are doing that, I don't know. Just get a feel for it and you'll pick up on it.

Don't do it constantly. Once is okay, but more than that and your asking for a hung rod

I remember when I first had my 97 civic ex, I would grind it a lot, because I was just to fast at shifting. I got a short shifter and that solved all my problems, I no longer had to throw the shifter fast. I feel as though honda put in a short shifter for us. I doesn't seem long at all. You'll get a hold of soon

My Type S' third gear is the same way...above 6k rpms sometimes it just wont go in and grinds like a bitch.

Thats awsome!...fun thing to do to rental cars...just not your own.
I have no probs with 3rd, ever since I removed most of the rubber on my front tires I've been able to grab 3rd ever so slightly.

ouch. It probably smoked your tranny a little. You should be okay, since you've only done it once or twice. Just don't do it again :D

they will if they feel that the tranny needs to be rebuilt or replaced. But make sure you keep your stock stuff, because if you go there with all that other mods they will turn you a way

personally there wasnt a honda tranny Ive driven that didn't give me a grind....my 99 Si did it, my Prelude did it, now my Type S is doing it...all in high RPM's...ill live with it until I can give up my car for 6+ hours for this damn TSB :o

YOU NEED TO LEARN HOW TO DRIVE! I USED TO THINK THAT I HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY TRANNY WHEN I FIRST STARTED DRIVING STICK BUT FINALLY REALIZED THAT THE CAR IS A MACHINE AND GEARS ARE NOT ALWAYS SMMMMMOOOOOTTTTHHHHHH.

I REALLY UNDERSTOOD MORE WHEN I TOOK AUTOSHOP IN SCHOOL. NOWI UNDERSTAND WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I PUSH THESTICK TO CHANGE GEARS.

btw speed...im not so sure how it would go since your car dosnt rev that high...but I know all the other Hondas that rev high such as the S2000, EM1 Si, etc have TSB's released on the grinding gears...might not be one tho since on all our cars it happens in the high rpms.

For anyone interested, and other RSX owners who haven't seen:
Type S TSB's including Gear Grind (http://www.ugr.net/rsx/)
