Idol Icebox Intake *must see*

Found this on honda-tech. Idol is a company in germany.

I talked to the guy on honda-tech (ITR 1858) and he said that it is going to be 600 euros which is like 647 usd. Real expensive. The reason why is becuase they don't have a distributor and for now they are able to make it by single request. they also have some badass looking suspension parts.

"ITR1858 (11:15 PM 3/16/2003): yeah... we are just a small company with low production capacity...Ans there is already a dealer who is willing to visit us and to take a trip in one of our racecars to see the parts in action... and I am sure he will like what he will see.
ITR1858 (9:29 AM 3/17/2003): Sure.. by now the cf intakes are single productions... project items.. If we are asked for more, the price will go down."

I posted that a few months ago, and I e-mailed them with no response, so I gave up. For that kind of money there are better intakes though IMO, it looks like a nice setup on the box, they just pipe in cold air with dryer vent piping or something similar.

i think its the type r lip... that carbon fiber in the middle u see is that one rubber thingy underneath ur car near the bumpers... our ep has em too.

even if there was some sort of group buy or vendor who would work with Idol to bring this icebox over, would it really result in a 50% cut in the price? plus, i'd like to see some dyno numbers to see how well this thing performs (just like i've been waiting for what seems like FOREVER on Comptech's Icebox).

also, i'm no expert, but does this particular design lend itself to hydrolock? here in houston, where deep puddles are not uncommon, it seems this particular set up would easily suck up water. what does everyone else think?

other than that, it seems like it would be a great set up for autoX or racing.
