I'm going to head down there soon to check out the kit. My buddy went there for his spring install and they were trying to get him to buy their turbo, even finance it from them. I want to see how it is in person before I think about doing anything crazy.

The bend is a Turbonetics silicon hose.

A fuel return-line was used with the kit and they are no issues with the fuel management or tuning.

Cybernation has successfully turbo charged the RSX for some time now and the same kit is used with the EP except for the obvious difference in pluming. Other than that the EP was very easy to tune the car made power effortlessly and can easily make 300 to the wheels. Last year we installed a similar kit on a base model RSX, which uses the same engine as the EP. The car now has over 12,000 miles under boost with no problems running 12lbs. The EP made exactly the same 210ft of torque at 7psi, the same as a Type S RSX at 7psi.

The EP is extremely fast under boost, the RSX has nothing on it.

Competition from Dodge: SRT4 or something like that, turbo'ed neon with 215hp 245tq 14.2sec in the quarter (nice setup of a domestic car) all for $19,995
Price/Performance wise it can't be beat in the new car market for the price.

Anyways, After many atempts of getting an engine I want at a good price, I'm thinking of rebuilding my A3 w/ strong upgrades and putting the complete turbo kit from Cybernation 7-10psi (300hp ish) daily driver and turn it upto 20psi+ (450hp ish +) for the track.

how did you pull 12's then? did you use slicks for the 12?

Anyway, I'd definitely look into a good LSD unit if you go turbo...just makes sense =P I don't think the RSX-S's LSD can really handle too much power actually...so maybe a harder core unit is neccessary hehehe

240whp @ 7psi isn't bad...we can probably up the boost too with bigger injectors and fuel management...

Of course optimally you'd want to balance the engine out, steal some oil squirters from the A2 and rig it up, port and polish, new rods, pistons, and sleeve the thing =P (note that this is in no particular order so don't tell me that it doesn't make any sense the order I have it written as) then run 20psi....mmmmmmm

Hmm...I wonder what tires the Dodge Neon SRT-4 uses...it's a FWD car with about the same amount of power(well actually it has more torque) and they probably outfit it with decent tires or it'd just spin like nust.

Of course it does have an LSD...

Tekdemon

port, you should run about the same as the RSX-S's get...

They get about 314HP @ 12 psi...290 @ 10 psi...250 @ 5-6 psi

So actually the regular K20A3 isn't far behind at all...you just have more RPMs and compression...

But the K20A3 can crank the boost higher...MUHAHAHAHAH =P

So it would kinda make your whole swap pointless...I dunno if that makes much sense to drop the K20A2 only to boost on it...wouldn't massasing the A3 have made more sense?

Oh nevermind, you're the dude who got the A2 on the cheap and sold your A3 for more right? =P

Tekdemon
04-02-2003, 11:42 AM
I believe you can get a more stripped kit with the minimum needed to run boost...for $3510 you get:

- Turbonetics T3/T4 Hybrid Turbo
- Vortec FMU
- Turbonetics Delta Waste Gate 7psi
- Cybernation Custom Spearco Intercooler
- Inline Fuel pump
- Cybernation Custom Tubular Steel Turbo Manifold
- 2 1/4 inch Aluminum Intercooler piping
- Cybernation Custom 2 and 1/2 inch Flex Down pipe/with T3/T4 flange
- 8 foot braided stainless steel fuel line
- Oil pan tap
- Fuel line elbow
- 1 ft stainless steel braided hose turbo to oil pan
- Cybernation Electronic Boost EL&F Regulator code name "Black Magic"
- Intercooler hose and clam set
- Turbonetics Variable boost control regulator 0 to 10 psi/optional
- Greddy blow off valve

This is from the RSX kits and I asked the guy and he said it's the same kit with different piping to get stuff to fit...and that the pricing is identical(well duh).

Their complete kit looks different from the $4500 one listed here...the RSX complete kit was:
- Turbonetics T3/T4 Hybrid Turbo
- Apexi VAFC Fuel controller
- Vortec FMU
- Turbonetics Delta Waste Gate 7psi
- Cybernation Custom Spearco Intercooler
- Inline Fuel pump
- Cybernation Custom Tubular Steel Turbo Manifold
- Greddy Profect B boost Controller
- 2 1/4 inch Aluminum Intercooler piping
- Cybernation Custom 2 and 1/2 inch Flex Down pipe/with T3/T4 flange
- 440 injectors (optional 550 without FMU)
- In-tank fuel pump
- Autometer 30 psi boost gauge
- Autometer A/F gauge
- 8 foot braided stainless steel fuel line
- Oil pan tap
- Fuel line elbow
- 1 ft stainless steel braided hose turbo to oil pan
- Cybernation Electronic Boost EL&F Regulator code name "Black Magic"
- Intercooler hose and clam set
- Turbonetics Variable boost control regulator 0 to 10 psi/optional
- Greddy blow off valve
- K&N Cone filter

I dunno exactly which one would be better...hmm

i dunno why the kit looks different. i just mailed the guy (i think his name was paul) asking him how much. that is what he quoted me. as it stands now, i'm about 2k short. if greddy doesn't release their's in the next 2 months, i'll be buying one from them.

just wondering, would a turbo for an k20a2(rsx-s) work better w/the a2?? Why buy a turbo for the k3 when you have a k2?

Their current RSX-S pushes 439whp with their kit and a few mods.

550cc Injectors
Pistons
Rods
Clutch
Lighthened Flywheel
and...25lbs of boost.

Not bad for a car that could probably run 11's on street tires.

This kit will work on the CTR, it's all about tweaking the fuel and timing. im sure they are not talking about the kit pushing 439 whp.. with 11.5-1 compression.. im tired, maybe i read it wrong lol

Considering the RSX-S is 11:1, the .5 wouldn't make that much difference. The base kit will work fine and with some tuning, I don't see why it wouldn't run with the K20a.

Now they're running a new clutch AND flywheel with their pistons and rods. It revs SOOOO damn quick.

As for running 15lbs every day, I don't think so. I think 10 would be safer on stock internals.
