SRI Heat protection ??????????

I've got one of the cheapy ebay intakes..... as far as I can tell, there doesn't seem to be much of a difference between it and the K&N..... but I was wondering... does anyone know of something I might be able to coat the pipe with to make it more heat resistant?????

You could wrap it, but that's not the biggest problem. The fact that you'll be sucking in hot air is the big problem.

Most intakes from big name companies(AEM, DC, K&N,etc) have heat restricting paint coatings, but yeah, just like steve said, it's the hot air you should worry about.
