I have been semi interested in these tires due to the price. I am going back for more Auto-x in a couple weeks, and wanted something to help "get me by" until I can afford another set of wheels and tires for the track and strip. These are like $204 to your door. Has anyone used Nankang before? Am I going to kill myself, are they okay for now until I can upgrade? Opinions please

a friend of mine has had a HORRIBLE experience with nankang tires.

they go out of round very easily, and are noisy, rough, and not that grippy.

for an econotire, look at kumho or falken.

Azenis run about $60 each for the stock rim size and nothing really touches them in terms of performance in a street tire (not talking about R). I'd go with those, especially if you're talking autocross. I don't know what class you're running in, but STS is pretty much dominated by Azenis.

Thanks for the feedback. I did run STS and most of the experienced guys were running Azenis. I figured they were a bit more expensive than that. Actually the size I will need is going be a little more expensive since they will be a bit bigger. Still, thanks guys.

They may be cheap, but they are also listed as 340 tread wear (lame).

I have decided to just wait a little while before I buy a set Maybe I can save up for the week of the next event I am going to. I will hopefully save enough to get Toyos or Falkens

I like when people give me the simple truth!! I will plan on Azenis then when I can. Thanks Killer. It seemed like the smartest choice considering what I saw at the first event. But I was hoping to stay with Toyos--the guys at Tire Barn are pretty cool and gave me a little bit of a deal on my FZ4's. I will check out the websites though.
