check this.... i was taking a look at my engine yesterday when I noticed black stuff on the side oh the cylinder head, just below the valve cover gasket. now... heres the scary part. can someone go out and look at their engine and see if they have a bolt or threaded hole in the rear left corner of the valve cover? i think i may be missing a bolt there, and its causing a gsket leak from the valve cover.

I have an empty threaded hole too, and FWIW, my EK hatch has two. Its there for mounting other stuff in different configurations, I think.

but heres another thing. it looks like the valve gasket is starting to seep oil and shit on th rear left of the head.... is any seeping allowable?

I'd show the dealer and see what they say about it as long as you've got warranty.

are you sure its oil and not a buildup of dirt/grime?

yeah, it was dirty and grimey, but you could tell it was comming from the gasket. wish i had a digicam
