Make your own HOMELINK device for $5 and fill up the empty unused right hole in the dash at the same time.

Because of my concern to keep my identity a secret, I'm not posting it on my own site. I've however zipped up the files. Once you unzip, you'll find a one html file (pushbutton.html) and a subdirectory named ep_images.

Anyone who has webspace, feel free to put it up on your website. Have fun guys

Darn. File size is too big. Breaking it up. When you unzip, you'll find 2 subdirectories. One is ep_images and the other ep_imagesbg.

I like Valentine 1 for 2 reasons.

1. Directional arrows. I like to know where the threat is coming from. Often the cops in the metro Detroit area will setup speed trap with cops position one after the other on a highway. You pass one and you might think you are free and clear on other detectors coz' it is still beeping and you think it is from the cop you just pass. On the V1, you'll see the counter showing 2 with the arrows flashing front and back. So you know there's another cop in front of you. It really works.

2. Fully remote display features. If you notice in my picture, the unit mounted inside the storage bin is the remote display. The main unit is above the rear view mirror. You can mount it near the cluster/gauges if you want. But it takes only a millisec. for me to glance to the right to see the display when I hear a beep. I like how all the information from the main unit is displayed on this little remote display.

Here's what Escort Passport 8500 top of the line model offers from their remote display:

All you see is a push button for mute and 2 lights. What's the point??

Bought it from RadioShack for $0.99. Secured with a double-sided tape included in the package.

A starter button is definitely cool. But the fact you still have to turn the key then press the button, what's the point? But I still like the starter button if I can move the hazards to a different location.

A garage button, I use it at least twice a day. A must have if you have a house and a garage. I hate my opener hanging on my visor previously. I am so used to using HOMELINK on my previous car and my significant other's car.

Sup EP3ers... First post!

lets get to business. Home link on our EP3. has anyone try to add a TSX homelink with Sunglass holder, mic, and dome/map lights? I know this seems a bit too difficult. But this is what I have in mind.

move the sunroof switch to the left side of the steering wheel like other hondas. and then use the whole space on top for this new part.

i saw this post for the honda FIT.

http://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-gen-ge8-specific-fit-interior-modifications-sub-forum/57699-diy-complete-tsx-homelink-install-ge8-sport-w-nav.html

Keep scrolling down untill you see the post by FitStrip, who makes the hole bigger to fit the TSX assembly.

According to the post, the metallic tabs that give support to the roof liner would have to be deleted, and replaced with something else. The thing that worries me the most, is that we might have some interference with the sunroof motor. But i removed the dome lights and looked in the space available (about 3 to 4 inches towards the back of the car from the edge of the whole)

Any ideas?

I am trying to add the pics from that post to this.

I've been meaning to do this to my car-- Flash2Pass system allows the driver to flash his high beams to open the garage door.

There is no need to buy this Flash2pass, here is a thread that you can use to do it with out buying that. This is from an S2000 website, but it should give you an idea.

In my case I dont want to do this because for my condo unit, i need one button for the complex entrance, and another for my garage. I want to have 2 separate buttons.

I could just hardwire the remotes into the car and add two extra buttons around. but it would not look as cool as having the TSX dome assy.

I am in the research stage of my homelink mod. Good luck!

Thanks for the link. I got the idea from an S2000 driver friend who mentioned the flashing lights opener-- I googled, but didn't see that link, just the F2P. He must have gotten the idea from that write-up.

Anyone know how easy it is to simply make an existing s2k engine start button into a garage opener?
