Yeah, I guess they are a couple of inches off. I knew the guys at the body shop and just told them to take care of the stickers. I'm managing to live with this though.

You had to ask!! Nah, I don't work at a nursery/garden...I was just desperate for some night pics, and this was the closest street lamp that gave off the right light. It just happened to be next to an Ace Hardware....maybe they'll sponsor

That was probably me. I've been on the road to Georgia and Tallahassee in the past couple of weekends. I actually passed through Panama City just last weekend. What road were they driving? I live over in the Destin, Fl area, so these are my stompin' grounds.

If that is what vandalism brings about for EP owners, sign me up! Your ride looks excellent, and the way the paint falls on the EP looks like it should be a factory color (certainly preferable to a couple of the shades they've chosen, IMHO). Excellent, Excellent, Excellent!!!

Congrats!!!!!!!!!

Yep. 17" 5Zigen Fighters and I believe they call them Titanium on the color. As for the tires, Yoko AVS ES100s - 215/45/17.

If there's one small thing Honda could to do improve the details of this car...well this is one of them. I don't see why they don't paint the mirrors body color, unless it's an efficiency issue. I bugged the body shop numerous times about this detail. I thought they'd blow me off when I said paint the mirrors too, but they came through!

They didn't gut and strip the car because of one reason...$$. All the door jamb work is a different ballgame, so I told them to just hold for now. So, my EP still has some remnants of Euro Pearl underneath its skin. I'm waiting for a compelling reason to fork over the rest of the money to get the insides of the doors finished (i.e., sale, enter shows, etc.).

My car was minding its own business one night in my apt parking lot...when a bunch of punks (still unknown to this day) decided to take their best set of keys to it. The hood and bumpers were keyed, along with the entire length of the sides of the car. The insurance covered the amount to repaint the damaged panels, which amounted to about $1600. On top of this, I had to pay my $500 deductible, which I would have had to pay regardless. But, for an extra $300, I had them repaint the entire exterior of the car and fix some bodywork where I had been hit by debris on the road. My insurance company could care less about the color since I was paying the extra. I would never have dreamed of repainting had it not been for this unfortunate...and fortunate...incident.

Yeah...I definitely wanted to repaint w/ a unique color. What better than a yellow (and I mean a real yellow...not the euro pearl stuff I used to have) by Honda?

As far as the vandalism, never caught the creeps. I was so pissed when I first saw the damage...I wanted heads on a platter...damn, I'd still take them on a platter.

By the way, anyone had any luck or thought about trying to get sponsorships?

Then i went and got drunk.

The more clashing color you have the more Japanese it looks...
I say go for the carbon fiber cuz we are heavier than an RSX..yes i said it...are cars are the fat kids on the performance side of hondas line in the US

Do you know what kind of weight savings I'd be making by going CF? I do have a little bit of heartache about adding a dark hood. I'd say for the trained eye, yes, a carbon fiber hood does have some sex appeal, just because it has certain implications besides the looks. But one of my goals is to make this car look nice to the entire crowd...not just the performance gurus out there. Trade-offs, trade-offs... I wish they had yellow fiber strands!

digitldlnkwnt
04-10-2003, 03:22 PM
I think they do make them with red blue and yellow..
I wanna say carbon works has them, but id be lieing if i said i knew for sure.
Me personally i repect that look cuz its a "no show all go" kinda look.
And what you do see is for aerodynamics and for sporting sponsor logos.
To each is own...but if i were you id comprimise...get carbon fiber..sumtin like a VIS hood or whatever the wallet tells you, and get it painted.
Boom now everyone is happy and its less likely to get snatched if it painted and noone knows

sniperSI
04-10-2003, 03:58 PM
Go carbon fiber dood. If not for weight reduction, then for looks,, it will compliment the dark rims, keep the black/dark and yellow feel of the car, imo

OR

Get carbon fiber, and get paint the sides where it convexs yellow, or the center in the convex yellow and leave the other part carbon, it will look pretty sweet. imo again

I agree...I think the dark hood would compliment the rims. That's about the only way I can justify doing it from a looks perspective.

get the carbon fiber, and have every girl on the street ask you why you painted your hood black.

for a street car, i just think its butt-ugly.

Yeah, bought the tire/rim combo through discounttiredirect.com. Yes, I must admit this pic was inspirational...it really influenced me to paint the bases of the side view mirrors. Wheels and colors were already in the works, so maybe I get a few originality points eh?

Cool! Thanks for posting more pix! Those are much better shots of what I consider one of the hottest Si's in existance! The color and the rims are magic together. (I feel a little sick however when I think of your piss yellow door jams). Keep talking more shots and posting the good ones.... and at least 1280 pixels wide so most everyone can use them as desktop pix! This car deserves to be photographed and shared around the world. Keep going for the perfect shot.... you're improving a lot, but you're not quite there. The one where you were clearly standing out in the ocean is pretty cool though, and funny once one realizes you were wading around with a camera to get a great photo!
