How do I remove the power outlet from its housing??

Dumb question, I know, but I'd like to remove the power outlet from the center console from its housing. I already have the housing removed and the wiring disconnected, but I can't seem to get the stupid thing off! I've tried a flathead screwdriver and everything, but I don't want to risk damaging the plastic. Any ideas? This minor thing is making me feel stupid... :'(

I didnt really look at that part when I was messing with it, but I think its most likely 1 of 2 things:

1.) pressure clips that need to be squeezed to go throught the hole

2.) the outer facing unscrews somehow from the inner part.
