Will 225 40 18 fit with no rubbing? Just a question. I can get a good deal on rims with these tires. Thanks

I don't know by experience, but with a little calculating, I think that they would work with no problem. A 225/40/18 is 25.087 inches in diameter and the stock tire size (195/60/15) is 24.212. But besides the fact that the 18's are .875 inches bigger, the gearing of the car will be taller. Also your speedo will read slower than you are actually traveling. You didn't say if you have lowered the car, but that still should not be a factor in tire clearence. Also make sure the wheels are the right offset. If you want to do some calculating of your own. Do a search for tire size calculator.

With 225's AND a drop you may experience rubbing/slamming :D .

It will ultimately depend on the amount of drop, your camber and the offset of your rims.

If you take a look at Chunky's tire... it's sticking out. He has +37 offset 225/50's on 15x7 rims. If you drop the car enough, the tire will slam against your fender pretty good on bumps. Some really good damage can occur...

I have a Progress drop. If my tires stuck out like Chunky' there would be about 1.25" front and <1" in the rear clearance from the top of the tire to the fender/wheel well. These are with stockies so with the wheels & tires you are proposing the clearance is even less (assuming you drop the car.)

If you do get the rims and tires and want a drop, you would need to get coilovers.
