I heard that the civic si and type r have 4 and 5 lugs respectively. Does this make a difference? I wouldn't think it make a difference at all.

its not the fact that it looks better, but it helps in 60-0 braking distance and i believe accelleration as well

I've read that with 5 lugs, the wheels are a bit more stable at high speeds, since the pentagonal 5 lug arrangement is more evenly distributed than the square 4 lug pattern.

the wheels i wanted only came in a 4x100 lug pattern for the size i wanted. so that is debatable.

that's not true at all. 5-lug has only one advantage, it has higher torque handling capabilities.

The bit about high speed stability is untrue. the weight of the wheel will mask the somewhat more ideal arrangement of the 5 lug pattern. The balance of the wheel is the main concern as far as high speed stability goes. The lugs are so close to the hub that they have almost zero effect relative to the outer rim of the wheel/tire

Well, for cars that are under 240 horses and 3,000lbs.... I dont' think having 4 or 5 lugs make that much difference...

it has nothing to do with looks, the Type R's have larger brake calipers and rotors.

King Motorsports' Si had the 5 lug conversion.
Enyone knows how this is achieved? Is there an actual after market conversion kit available?
