I looked at some of the definitions online and they just confuse me more...

So let's say I want to go from our stock(I think it's +45 offset) wheels to a 16"x7" wheel...how do I figure out what offset I need?!?

Also, is it possible to make the car have a wider stance with these? How much before you'll rub? Very confusing to read the definitions =(

wider stance is going to depend on your tires.

Isn't it with lower offset, the more the wheel pokes out, i.e. wider stance? I forgot, haven't been around the 4ag boards in a while :)

Google is our friend :)

Decent explanation of offset (http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/offset.htm)

Wheel offset calculator (http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/offset.html)

based on that calculator doesn't that mean 16x7 wheels would actually put LESS stress on the strut since the clearance from the strut housing to the inside of the wheel is less at the same offset?!?!

Of course I get the feeling that would mean turning would be affected since you probably couldn't mount wider tires without the less clearance affecting your turns even more...
