non resonated stock exhaust "?"

WHo has done this? What is involved in doing this? The stock resonator is the round circle can just before the muffler?

alot of people.
most replace the whole midpipe though (2 1/4").
no sense in paying to have the resonator removed and keeping that 1" (ok maybe a little larger) piping.

I replaced the whole piping w/o resonator and i get a deep-loud tone on a Apexi N-1 muffler
