What are your guys opinion on an universal exhaust. I bought a 5 Zigen Fireball universal muffler and wanted to put it on. The muffler is N/A application. Was thinking of just getting custom 2.25'' cat back piping.

Friends tell me that I should buy a bolt on cat back exhaust system that's made for my EP. Is there really a differece between the two? Would the HP gain be the same?

Thanks for the help...

I'm holding out and saving money for a full-catback. There is a power difference from a full-cat back and a custom cat back. There is sound difference also. You can get your custom pipeing mandrel bent for a better flow instead of crush bent. It will cost a little more though. You'll gain power either way but I'd say save up a little more and get a full cat-back system.

IMO, Power level increase would be: 1= the highest and 3= the lowest power gain.)

1. Full Cat-back system
2. Custom Mandrel bent cat-back
3. Crush bent cat-back

i bought my si in may of last year and there was no cat-back out for the ep so i've been running a Apexi N-1 custom catback for a yr now and i like it just fine
