I just turned 2200 miles on the speedo and I'm down one litre of oil according to the dip stick, is this normal for the break in or should I be concerned!

*only* 1 litre? I was down much more than that at that mileage. Then after I got an oil change at 5k miles (8045 km) which was about a week and a half ago, I'm already down about almost a quart. (that's with 5w30, also)

But, this oil thing has been rehashed a plethora of times in other threads, so check that out beforehand.

my engine used almost a quart the first 2500 kms, and about the same the next 2500 kms, which seemed like a fair bit to me at the time. But now as I approached the 7500 km mark my oil consumption has pretty much returned to normal levels, with very little consumption. The change seems to have happened quite dramatically. I think that is a sign that the break-in process has ended. Seems to correspond with Honda's break-in recommendation. I changed oil at 2500kms to 5w-30 Castrol GTX though. They generally say oil consumption is only considered high if you exceed one quart every 1000 miles.

The dealer is currently pulling my car in once every 500 miles to check my oil due to high consumption. Doesn't make sense because my car was broken in very well.

I was about 1/2 qt. low on my last oil change. I have a little over 10000 miles on my car.

The engine is gettin loud on me (at idle), almost a ticking noise. I'm sure it's low on oil. I looked at the dip stick, but saw no marks on it for max/min range. Just 2 holes at the end.

Someone want to shed some light on this for me?

top hole = Good, but don't go too far over & overfill
bottom hole = Bad, add oil till level reaches top hole

There should be some info on checking the oil in the owners manual (Don't have it with me).
I think that usually if your oil level is on the bottom hole,it means you are down about 1 quart.

seems like the k-series motors in general gobble up a lot of oil in the first 5k or so.

Yes the manual states to check the oil every fillup and yes the k series motors use up oil since they are high-revving engines. The first time I changed my oil at about 6000 miles I was lacking almost a quart. Since then I'm making sure to check oil once every 2 weeks to make sure my baby is getting the proper lubrication it deserves.
