There is a local Honda dealer where I live that has 6 2003 Honda Accord Coupes 6 cylinder 6 speed manuals on the lot.

The asking price? $25,900. Is this too good to be true?
Honda quality, 240 hp, 219 lbs of torque, all for under $26,000?

I think it even comes with a good stereo stock. The only thing I don't like is the boring Accord image of a family car.

But isn't the 2003 Accord 6 speed manual coupe more of a sports coupe? This seem like a worthy successor to the Si for those willing to trade up.

What does everyone think?

Also, I just checked Kelly Blue Book and invoice with destination is $23, 800. So, add $500 to that for dealer profit and you can have a

Honda 240 hp 6 speed manual for $24,300! Isn't this the Type R in a different package?

I thought Type R was the K24? I'm probably wrong, and don't care enough to look it up, but if they use the V6 in the euro R then it's nothing too special IMO. But as for the new accords, the sedan is one ugly mother fucker, but the coupe is sexy IMO. And yes, you would be killing most Si's and relaxing in leather while doing it if you got that car. The interior is not worth the 23k IMO, it's worth much more. I sat in one at the Gillman dealership, and i was reminded of nicer euro luxo cruisers. Nice leather, navigation, and a badass system. I saw the price and flipped! Oh well, chunky ass FWD family coupe wasn't really what i was going for, so i got the egg. chunky ass FWD econo box :)

How much does the Accord weigh? It has the same HP as the S2000, but looks like a lot more weight....

i dont really care for the accord coupe, cuz when u drive it, u dont have very good visibility because of its high beltline.

No, you're thinking about the TSX, which has a 4-banger in it.

I'm not sure if an Accord would be any fun. I think I prefer light, nimble 4 bangers.

Over-weighted-over-rated-oldman's ride.

I pity those suckers who paid $3k over sticker when it first came out!

I look at the Accord V6 MT as a more "mature" muscle car than a "balls-out" sports car.

Makes you wonder why anyone would pay more for a front-wheel drive coupe.:D

Just came back from Acura dealership, they have three TSX's all in auto, but it looks allot better in person than it did in the pictures. I will wait until they have 6 spd, and the price comes down a bit. $27K for an Accord Type R is kind of high in my book. Other than the price the car looks awesome, I will test drive one as soon as they get a manual in.

With all due respect, why pay $27k for a TSX 200 hp when you could pay under $24k for an Accord 6 speed 240 hp?

Here's how I see American Honda justifies it:

1. It's got features that you can't get in an Accord
2. It's tuned to be a more sporting car
3. The above two makes it deserve an Acura nameplate

Result: It costs what it does.

Accord Coupe...hmmm, heavy understeering monsters. And by no means you can call that a 'sporty car' 'cuz my definitions of a sports car does not include many that's over 3000 lbs. If it's over that weight and want to be called a sportscar then it better have a Prancing Horse logo, a Porsche shield on the front, or even one of those 'mature' Merc SL's.

A KICK IN THE A$$ TO DRIVE

ACCORD V-6 6 SPEED ROCKET
PERFORMANCE:

0-60: 6.1 sec
0-100: 16.0 sec
1/4 mile: 14.8 sec @ 96 mph
Top Speed: 148 mph
The coupe has a taillight treatment kind of like the new Mercedes CL. Whatever you think of the styling, the Accord doesn't stop from being one hell of a car. This new Accord also has the handling to match it's extra power, with 17 inch wheels shodded with 215/50R-17 tires. for $26,360 this car is a blast to drive

MY EP HAS NEW SHOCKS , SPRINGS ............PROB A SWAY BAY IN THE FUTURE. dO YOU THINK WHITH THESE MODS THE ACCORD WOULD KICK SOME TAIL...........GUARANTEED!

Where I am any mentioning of manual accord requires you/me paying MSRP as they are simply never in stock. Besides regualr accord is boring and soooo family car, coupe is a better looking accord, but still the size of buick. TSX is smaller, but still roomy and fun to drive (to be determined on a test drive) I assume because it is Accor Type R, it is more balanced than the front heavy US accord coupe. And the "type R" suspension got to be worth something.

I dont know i like some of the accords that are done up. I test drove the New 6 speed accord it was a very cool car to drive, BMX269 and I took it out, he was filming in the back seat while i slamed on the gears, I hit 3 real quick it was hard for him to film.

heres some pics of the accords that have been moded.
