Hey guys, I'm a noob when it comes to stereo stuff and I need some help. I can get the P6500 from a family friend who is a Pioneer dealer for around 200 including the kit to install it into the EP. Is this a good head unit to start building a system with or are there any others within the 200-300 price range (retail) that you guys would recommend. He deals in Pioneer, Sony, etc. so any suggestions would be good. Thanks.

I had a DEH-P6400 in the Escort I sold when I got my EP. (The 6500 is this year's model.) I loved the crap out of that head. It sounded rockin', had good outputs for my subs, a nice high/low pass filter, and some other stuff I never did use, but whatever it did, I'm sure it was cool. On top of all that, the screensavers are the best of any I've seen in it's price range. For $200 with the install, get on that like white on rice. I'm actually looking at that head to start my system on my EP, so if you get it, let me know how it goes for ya!
