Is that the actual Dupli-color paint name? "Gunmetal"?

Yep. I plan on painting my valve cover red and matching the spark plug cover and engine cover the same gunmetal used on the lights this weekend.

Ok I have to say I love the look of this, but I am worried about screwing up a good set of head lights. What is the chances of doing this? Just putting out about $400 to get painted ones seems nuts to me so I am debatting on what to do.

Thanks

Actually, it wasnt too bad. I was worried about messing them up too, but if you take your time and are careful there wont be a problem.

Looks really good :p

How long did it take? and did you think of adding the amber on the sides?

Thanks! It took me apprx. 6 hrs, I used 3 coats of primer and paint and allowed about 30 min inbetween coats to dry. I did consider changing out the side markers to amber and then painting the headlight blinker amber to match, but IMO the clear looks cleaner on a black car than the amber.

That is not bad amount of time. I am now thinking when I have my 3 day weekend next month for the holiday I might take on this project. Should be funny when I walk into the house with with two head lights and put them in the oven and see the looks of my familys face. Just thinking of what color I should paint mine with a silver car.
