If you haven't run into any problems yet... you should be fine.

I love my gc's... install was smooth... great ride... and easy to adjust...

p.s. if you run into any weird noises like squeeking... get under the car and grease up the suspension a bit... works like a charm. But you shouldn't run into any problems if done right... now all you have to worry about are the stock shocks and struts...:)

almost a month now... and no complaints from me... but definetly time for me to invest in a camber kit...:)

So how high or low can you adjust them, and are they a stiffer ride than stock? Do they get stiffer as you get lower?

It'd be cool to have some if you could keep em at like 1" drop for every day, and then drop em some more for the track...

I need some details....

Yea I'm curious as well too. I'm considering getting some GroundControls for my EP. Will they work with the stock shocks? I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about the Ground Controls. I had them on my 99 Si and they were great.

OK, I reasearched a little:

Height Range
-.5 to -2.5 inches (or more if you cut the stops up front)

Spring Rates
Stock: 248 front 440 rear
GroundControls: 375 front 450 rear (much stiffer in front, a little stiffer in rear)

MSRP
$339 (USD)

My biggest question now is, do they weigh over a pound more than just springs?

They seem to be pretty compatible with various dampers, but are there any hidden tradeoffs for going with these? Im getting really interested in the potential here....

I have a set sitting in my room waiting to be installed, i can take pics of components if youd like

Yes !!! Please do!! Im curious to see what they look like.

My big question is will they work with the stock rear shocks? Or do you have to install them with Koni shocks???????

Thanks for the spring rates! I'm considering these, but I'm not sure those are the rates I'll need.

Hey, I was going to ask you about these on Saturday at Spokes... Registration is closed, but I'm going to go anyway... sounds stiff in the front...but hard to resist the prospect of tweaking the height.

I love the ride... it's a little stiffer than stock but rides nice...
I'm not sure how many inches i dropped it since i went by the thread count and didn't really measure before and after... but i know that from the ground to the the fender it's 23.5 inches in the front and 24 inches in the rear... I'll post some pics soon...

Yes they work with the stock shocks... but in the long run i'd go with aftermarket shocks... our stocks can only take so much... but that will happen no matter what springs you drop it on...

Ohhhh... and they're very easy to adjust... a big plus...

yes i would recommend these sleeve kits to anyone. there great, but it would be better if we had some aftermarket shocks.

Ive taken the pics...however im at home..and all my av cables are at school, will be posted within the next 2-3 days. I will also take pictures of stock height on stock springs, height with Gcs completely up, and if possible completely down. I can also post pics with it on stock wheels and 17" buddy clubs. It will take awhile however because my mechanic is finishing up my other car now...and bothhe and i want one down before we start on another

i have race springs but i like the flexibility of GC's and dont have the $$ to drop on real coilovers. if i didnt hear so many people having problems with noises i'd probably have GC's by now:confused:

BlasTech
04-18-2003, 06:03 PM
what other kinds of coilovers are there? I know theres skunk2's, also for $349, with no disclosed spring rates...

Update on Ground Controls:

I just spoke to the sales rep at Ground Control, and they can send you any set rate springs from 300 to 500.

Got a question for u guys . I have had my GC for over 7 months now on stock struts. I was wondering if this would have any adverse effects on my car?

You shouldn't have any problems what so ever. Depending on how low you have lowered it your stock shocks might wear out.

Because of the stiffer ride & added stress... sooner or later your stock shocks will go bye-bye... but no worries you should be able to roll around without them going bad... long enough to hold out for some aftermarkets...

Don't think it has anything to do with how low you are... did you grease up the pieces real good?... if you didn't there is you're problem... get under there and grease away...

FACTION95Si
04-24-2003, 08:34 AM
Where do you grease them? Mine will make small clicking or popping noises every once in a while when I go over speedbumps. I think its because they are still brand new and need time to settle. But where do you grease them and what type of grease do you use?

My_Blk_Si
04-24-2003, 11:17 AM
I asked that same question when i went to install them... but got no response... so i said f**k it and greased up all the pieces... I know for sure you wanna grease up the threads because it makes for easier adjusting of height... and i used lithium grease or whatever its called...

You dont want to grease the threads cause then dirt and crap will stick to it making it harder to adjust the height. Also John is your bumpstop upside down? Dont think it'll make a difference though, just asking.

Look on the pic above. On the gold ring that is around the threaded burgandy cylinder there is an allen wrench socket. Loosen that and spin the gold ring up or down to set it at your desired height. Rethighten the gold perch and enjoy.

If you have further questions you can just PM me.
