Thats right, i put in 15.00 @ $1.68 a gallon in my EP(On the Full marker)(87 Octane). I drove it for two weeks and then i was at 277miles...I could have gone more but i didnt want to stall by mistake "Some how", then i couldnt start my car..I think it takes like, 23 dollars to fill it fully to its capacity, 13.2 gallon tank. But im sure when i was testing it i used the reserve gas also....I didnt use much of it tho, i only drove around when the yellow light came on for about 5-12 miles.

I think its pretty cool, that a My EP Which is ***Stock*** no mods at all can get 277 on a tank. I drove it easy, shifting at 3K rpms staying in 5th most of the time...But i did redline/speed here and their.. Also i think it could have gotten more but i didnt want to push it i estimate, 290 miles..My mom in her 03 accord 4cly (auto) got 300 miles on a full tank...The reserve (yellow light comes on) gives 40 miles, i clocked it, till it runs out of gas on my moms car...

All in all, HONDA= Gas Saving cars!
They are sweeet, fun and save gas (stock anyways!)

I just wana see what where some of your Tank "MAX OUT" Miles that you guys got?

not to burst your bubble, but driving the balls out of my car, i get about 260-280 miles till the gas light first turns on. If i drive easy, I can get 300+. My personal best is 320miles and some change with only about 10 miles of driving with the gas light on.

btw, i only use bp/amoco ultimate. 93 octane, carbon filtered so it's crystal clear. only costs about 1.50 right now. peaked out at 1.70 about 2 months ago. but usually it holds around 1.39-1.50

You should be able to get 300 miles in easily on a full tank.

I get about 280 but I cant go a full tank without visiting the rev limiter a couple of times.:p

That's insane. I though it was bad paying around $1.75 per gallon for 93 octane.

I just did all interstate driving hitting 90-100 a few times, very briefly. But, I managed 290 miles on a tank and I didn't even see the low fuel light come on. :p I'm sure I could see 300+ if I drove 60 mph all day long.

389 on a full tank, that's shifting at 3-35k all day long

Yep i just got 389.4 miles on my last tank of fuel....i probably still had another gallon left but didnt want to chance it!!!:D I always get that kind of mileage....whether I am easy on it or balls to the wall:p

I personal best was 326 then my car died and I had to get fuel lol.

I think that my mileage has gotten better since then, if I did that again I'd probably end up at 350-380.

Doesnt matter if I drive James Dean or Grandpa style.

I dunno, but i only get an average of like 210-220 miles on a tank until my gas light comes on.
I drive about 95% city miles...but STILL.

I think the gauge is screwed up though because sometimes when i add like $10 of gas when i'm on "E", the gauge doesnt even move up until like a half hour of driving. I should probably bring it in for service, but i'm sure Honda would "fail to reproduce the problem".

400 miles per tank. I have done it just once. But I get 370 all the tome.

Adam, there is definitely something wrong with your gas gauge. Mine goes up as soon as I start the car. Taking it in would be a good idea.

usually i average between 250 and 275 a tank, because i live in chicago, lots of stop and go. but my light turns on usually around 220. so i dont like to chance it. but when i went to mich. a couple of weeks ago i got 310 before i decided to fill up again.

yo my gas gauge has to be totally screwed up. I was driving on a long trip and the light seemed to come on early. So I pulled over and got gas and the car still had 4 gallons left in the tank.

Also half the time when i put gas into it, I have to turn the car all the way off to get it to go up right away.

gas here is $1.51 (for now) and i get about 385-390 a tank....and thats with the occasional butt kickin of a chevy, dodge, or ford. lol

Get 280-300 before the light comes on around town and get 240-270 on the highway cruising at 80-85 mph. Don't understand why it better around town then on the highway.

390 miles is insane. I can't get that, and I try to granny shift to save gas.

i think my car has a problem! i try to drive really calm and the best i can get is like 260

can anyone tell me what they get for HALF A TANK? i only get about 120....MAN I DONT GET IT! my milage is so bad

SinisterCivicSi

how many miles do you have on your car?
when i first got my si....i swear i only got about 195-200 miles to a tank...that disturbed me since my 93 got 400+ miles to a tank.
now that my car has been fully broken in with higher mileage, its more efficient. i also was told by the dealer (cause i thought something was wrong with my car too) about the gas trouble. they told me that the gas in the summer and in the winter is at a different oxidation level, and therefore burns faster and slower during those times.....not sure if any of this is true or just a bunch of crap, but it made sense.

Guys, I think a lot of it has to do with our gas gauge. I know it is pretty squrriely I was driving on the interstate and my light comes on I fill her up asap and I only put about 9 gallons in. We have a 13.2 gallon tank. I'm guessing the people that were able to go farther on one tank are putting more gas in their car.

Do cai's help mileage?

you just reminded me of another thing the guy at the dealer told me...and its right on point with what you said. when you pump gas at a high rate, it bubbles and gets a foam. this is what kicks the handle off and you to stop pumping. i was told when the maching says you have pumped 9 gallons, let off the handle at least half way, and give the bubbles and foam time to dissipate, that way you can get alot more gas in your tank...that extra 4 gallons can make a big difference in your overall gas mileage - especially if your keeping an eyeball on it.
hope this helps.

you will get there sweetie, just be patient....i thought that same shit when i first got my car.....i was like "dammit, i gotta get another job just to keep my tank full!"

i think around 8K is when i started seeing an improvement. i am at 17K now....well, with the origional engine....the new short block has about 2K

I sometimes have the same problem with my gauge. It will take like 45 min of driving before it goes up all the way. Even if i turn the car all the way off and on it still wont show a full tank. It only has happened a handful of times though.

I think that you can get better milage i a city driving. just throw it into 5th at 20 mph and skip 2,4 gears. I just drove from jersey to colorado and through kansas i was averaging about 190 miles to a tank. I was also doing 100 mph for 300 miles =).\

man.... u people be getting some insane numbers. I WANT!!! I'm only getting avg of 200 per tank!!! best I've done is 205. Maybe that's because I only have 3k miles on my engine?

How about Aviation Fuel? Or race Fuel? GOod gas mileage??

Instead of keeping track of mileage based on when the gas light comes on, I think you can get more accurate results noting the amount of fuel consumed.

So if I get 300 miles since my last fill up and at the next, it takes 10 gallons to fill up, I can figure I'm getting about 30mpg.

Those of you getting much less than 300 between fillups might not be using much of the gas in your tanks between fillups. I usually have at least 4 gallons or over 100 miles by the time my light comes on.

Happy motoring.

at least i have some company.
well i checked my MPG a couple times based on how many miles i drove and amount of fuel car took at fill up and i was around 26-27 mpg usually...so i guess i'm not way off.

yeah, i've got pretty low mileage as well. Light comes on around 250 miles and I fill it up as soon as I see a station. 87 octane, cuz that's what the manual says, and I'm computing around 24 mpg. That's 6000 miles on the engine. I was a little upset about that, but my driving is usually just 10-20 mile trips around town. I do hope that'll improve though.

Someone asked this before - does a cai or sri help or hurt gas mileage?

thanks

I just drove from Philly to DC and back yesterday, cruise control at 75mph most of the way, filled up before I left, reset the trip meter, fuel light came on at 312, stopped for gas at 321. Filled up and it took 8.9 gallons. This calculates out to about 35mpg! I usually get about 32 highway and 27 if I'm driving part hwy and part stop-and-go. I fill up in NJ when I can because it's so cheap. Last tank was $1.42/gal fo 87. BTW, I did see mileage increase when I switched from 93 to 87!
