I'd like to shut off the "feature" that prevents you from locking the car via keyless while the engine is running... I know that this feature is designed to keep one from locking themselves out of the car, but c'mon...

I'd like to be able to keep my car running and locked (e.g. when I grab a Snapple at the local service station or convenience store)... is there a way to do this?

a turbo timer is used on turbo cars, so that when u turn off the car, and take out the key, the engine is still running to circulate oil through the turbos to cool them down so they wont sustain damage. you can set them to run however many minutes after you've taken out ur key.

Yes, I know what a turbo timer is, but I fail to see how this solves the question I posed...?

cuz u can set it to run long enough so you car would still be running after you've come back from gettin a snapple?

Ok, I just have to ask this.

How would that work with the key immobilizer thing we have on our cars?

Not flaming here, just a question.

Ok, well if someone finds out how to disable the immobilizer thing in our Ep lets not post it here on how to do it. Just so he can go buy a Snapple.... lol

After re-thinking this, wouldn't he just need to bypass the *not able to lock youself out* part of the system or is that part of the system. Hmmmmm?

I don't necessarily think that you'd have to screw with the immobilizer in order to enable locking/unlocking while the car is running... After all, I've seen auto-tranny Hondas (pre immobilizer) models with remote start... All I want to is to be able to leave the engine running and not have the stupid keyless prohibit me from locking it... that's all!!!

Not sure, but I'm guessing it is some sort of valet related feature... check your owners manual...
