This is also my first Brand New Car.
(My first stick too)

As far a spoiled goes, I got my first car and license when I was 20.

1978 Mercury Grand Marquis w/ 351 Cleveland Engine

I miss that car :'(

Sorry for rambling.....

Sheesh, 27 isn't old at all really. You might just feel old compared to the 16 year old kids getting their new rides and stuff, but I'm sure there are many people your age, and older that frequent these forums and also drive Si's. I'm 19 and got my EP last year when I was 18. First car as well.

I love this car because it is more powerful than my old SR20DE and much, much more refined! Yeah baby, Honda product!!!!

Well I'm 31. Last year I got married so I sold my EK and got an SUV. Got tired of it and I got an Accord coupe(big mistake).Three months later I got the Si. Three days later I lowered it ;a week after that I got I/E and a week later a NOS. And I'll be like this for a long time.
Just call me young @ heart.

Actually I was considering 200sx SER for my daily driving but now am intrigued by the idea of having a new car. Just can't find a clean 200sx around here...

I feel all warm and fuzzy now that I know there are other old farts

It's interesting that for the old folks...I mean eh, older folks, the EP is the first new car(such will be the case for me if I do buy one).

Man back when I got my license, I was driving '84 Renault Alliance which blew engine twice...I mean, I was doing 85 in it when it happened the second time, but still...:o Oh yeah, it blew radiator hose when I was taking some chicks to the mall too. Real smooth...

Peace I am 27 yrs young myself, and just love the whole street import car scene, i mean i got my first honda in 99 a civic dx traded it in 02' for the EP. I dont feel old at all, cause i am a big kid on the insides, hell if a shave my beard i look like a twelve yr old..go figure .... I think i am more jealous of the younger cats cause it seem like they getting mods on the rides like every week.... i mean ... i make 30k plus a year and still cant go out and drop 600 for a exhaust system, or 200 to drop her etc... with out thinking and squeezing pennies together or taking months to save- i mean i got two pit bulls and i think i am about to start pimping my boy dog out for $500 to have sex with a few bitches:D and make some car fun money...so all you younger ride and die Si'ers enjoy the shelter of parents home and the college school life..cause when you get out there in the rel world money be tighter than a squeezed out fart....:o ..excuse me;)

djtano-

The Si makes a great daily driver! I put 90 miles a day on mine. Solid, quality construction. Nice daily-driver torque spread. And a good platform to start with if you want to mod it later.

Who cares if you're older than most of the folks on this board? The common bond is the car. Half the people I see in Si's around Southern California are over 30. BTW, I'm 46, and I can't wait to throw a Pro-Kit on it with some 17's.

Buy one and enjoy!

I had the big Four-Oh this week, and judging from the responses on this thread alone, that puts me only 2nd or 3rd (depending just how old NeuroSi thinks he'd need to be, to be your father).

I actually don't have an Si at the moment. I did have one briefly in early April, but the dealer screwed up the paperwork, and managed to turn a straightforward car purchase into a 930 mile test drive. I have owned a '99 SiR (stolen after 20 wonderful months together), and 3 other Hondas.

My extended test drive convinced me to wait and see if the CTR rumors are true. IMHO the car needs the extra fizz in the upper RPM range to be a longtermer for me. But, that judgement is based on the desire to take the car to the track occasionally. If you don't need/want to do that, the current Si makes a noisy but fun daily commuter.

Wow! I feel so young. I'm a month away from 26 and just getting ready to buy a house. My EP is my 4th car but my first new one. I had a 97 Civic EX before it and fell in love with Honda's. Like some of the others mentioned it's so much tougher to try and come up with $$ for the mods even when you're making good $$.......I'm still excited about the intake I put in 2 weeks ago.

I ended up waiting until late last year to pick mine up for a way better deal.

I'm 26 and my '03 Si is my first new car also. I really don't feel 'old' compared to the younger guys here, either. I may be a Lieutenant in the Air Force, but I still skateboard and listen to Minor Threat and all that. Probably not your typical military officer, huh?
I'm new to this board and the Honda scene altogether. I also have a '66 Cadillac, which can't get anymore opposite than an EP. I drove the Si for a month and then tried driving the deVille. It was like driving a block of jello on a waterbed, compared to the Si. Anyway, I enjoy reading this board everyday. I'm glad to have such a great source of information(and humor) right here.

I will be 32 in June, so djtano, don't feel old. As far as daily driving, I put about 110 miles on mine (round trip) to work. Now, lucky for me I only work 3 or 4 days a week. Its my first Honda and I love it. I'd love it more if I drove it off the dealer lot with 200+ whp, but I'll get there.

I guess i fit in with the rest of you people. I am 27 and will be turning 28 this summer. This is my third new car.
For my first car I BOUGHT with MY OWN MONEY an 83 chevy celebrity, and paid MY OWN INSURANCE. then traded the chevy for an 85 civic hatch DX, that was my fist honda, then traded the civic with 250 000 miles for an 87 Accord LXi. The accord later became my sister's car, while I got my self a 91 Jetta. Sold Jetta, bought a 99 civic coupe new, traded for the 2001 CR-V. And now I have the Si. In a sence I have come back to the Civic hatchback that started my affair with Honda :-)

i'll be the old guy today. i'll be 45 in july, the wife is a couple years older. we are saving up a sizable down payment to purchase an si in august or sept.
last week i helped put a jdm engine in the son's 91 civic 4wd wagon. the week before i put an engine in the daughters old escort gt. it just doesn't get any better than that.
the fun of driving a performance vehicle knows no age limits. the si may not be the fastest or the best handling, but for the sheer pleasure and comfort i don't think it can be beat.
