im thinking about getting the 5zigen 17" fighter but i like to get 18" to cover the wheel gap on H&R springs. (yes i got the one for the Si not for the 1.7's). anyway, the 18's are i think 19pnds; 2 pnds heavier than the 17"s. other than that, do 18"s hurt the performance in any other way. and what is a good low profile tire size i can get for the 18"er. i liked the 215/45 for the 17's.
probaly been posted somewhat like this before but i need oppinions for my needs not theres.

pretty much anything that has to do with XLer8ting is gonna be hurt by 18s but there is an up side to 18s in the performance catagory! 18s will signifgantly reduce body rool with a good drop! if you get 18s and leave your car stock hieght it will just make it a monster truck and well all now how well trucks handle! lol! but for sure with a 1.8 to 2.25 drop 18s will give you crasy ass handling gains! aswell though 18s are not too suitable for AUTOXing they are just to heavy if ya want handling gains for autox stick to 16s or 17s. and as for tires... i really like falken azenis and nitto 555 drag/street radials. thats my 2cents and its all IMO

Dood, you ass will hurt!!!
The lower your ride, and the thinner your tires, the more you feel EVERY bump and imperfection in the road....
Keep this in mind if it's a daily driver....

I ride 17's and neuspeed race 2.0/2.25 drop. Even cracked or pitted asphalt hurts my ass!!!

Worth it in the long run tho!!
