How does the damage look.... anyone know anything about body work?... someone point me in the right direction.. I'd go thru my insurance, but I got 2 tickets the same day as this little crash(not related)... and I just got done going to court for another ticket... which i have to goto driving school for.

Maybe you should SLOW it down just a little? I hope it doesnt cost you too much.

You got two tickets and you busted your car in the SAME DAY?? I feel sorry for you man. :( If I was you, I would:

-Take the heat and have my insurance company pay for it.
-Dont use bondo, that shit is shit.
-Slow the F*CK down and enjoy the rest of what car you have left. ;)

Have insurance pay for it, then start looking for a new insurance company :)

Good luck. Oh, and th bumper alone will be close to $1500 parts and labor. I had to have mine replaced because of getting rear ended when my car was less than 2 month old.

Two tickets in the same day, then an accident. Was the fun worth it?

Damn....that is a really bad string of bad luck in one day....

You could always just buy the parts yourself here....it would be cheaper....but you would have to get them painted....

court, two tickets, crash and mandatory driving school...wow rough times.

I'd say fix it yourself, out of pocket. With all your run-in's I can't imagine that your insurance would not jack your premiums and that you'll end up paying more over the next couple of years.

My rule of thumb...if you can drive your car away from a crash, don't involve insurance.

Can you describe how you lost the rear end please? Seriously. were you e-braking?

I ran off the road when I was about your age once. It was embarrasing.

I'd say find a way to NOT involve the insurance, if possible. I'm not a body repair experty, but I'd guess about 4K for that.

if you ahve to get your quarter panel replaced you are talking some big bucks. i ran a body shop for a year and repairs like that are costly. how much is your deductable? if you find a realy good body shop you can get that qrt panel repaired and it would be alot better. because replaceing the qtr panel is alot. you have to cut the old one out weld the new one in. that rear body panel is going t oneed some pulling on a frame machine to get it back into place. i could tell you alot more if i saw it in person. just take it to a few body shops and see what they tell you. make sure you let them know you are paying for it yourself and that you are looking around so they give you a low quote not an insurance quote, there is a big diffrence...

On the good side...

Now is a perfect time to do the rear tail light mod--with the bumper off and all.....

= )

fyzm7357 .. thanks for those price quotes... now i'm just curious as to how much it would cost to weld in the new one.. probably more than having it just repaired..
It doesn't look as bad in person.. and that whole rear bumper is held in by clips everywhere else... so i kinda don't need all that crap thats bent up underneith since the bumper will cover it. Just need to pull out the dent and shape it somehow... ?.. bondo?.. what would a body shop use?

And I lost the ass end cause the road curved left, up, then back down....not much weight in the back and my tires arn't doing so well....speed was a factor of course.. usually when i start to lose grip.. it's easy to gain control, but not when your rear end isn't touching the ground.

So anyone out there have a Satin Silver bumper?... it'd be nice if I didn't have to repaint..

From the damage it looks llike the wheel would have been scratched up, but I don't see any. Isn't that strange?

I think the license plate says it all!

I'm surprised you lost the back end like that, considering the Si is tuned for understeer.

well the back end kinda wasn't touching the ground... The turn I was taking was like up over a hill... I caught the air with the ass end.

oh yeah and nate, the wheel isn't scratched up cause I hit a large mound of dirt... I'm wondering if I bent the suspension..

Well bro I'm an estimator. Good news is that if you are short on funds, convince your insurance carrier that you want it repaired as opposed to having the quarter replaced. The process is really simple. I would write it up to floor pull the actual dent, give my tech 4.5-6 hours to work the dent, time to feather-edge fill, prime & block the area. replace the I-vtec at the quarter for my blend panel, also remove & install the quarter window, roof molding, rear lamp assy and replace the bumper cover lense. Replace the rear cover, maybe able to find a used one or LKQ if not, go oem and paint it. Your Rt front door will also need to be blended to match the quarter which means the weather-strip, handle, interior trim panel and mirror need to be removed for access. I would assume w/out my estimating software with me around $2800-3k easily. Be a sport turn it in to your Ins Co. Don

mine was creamed from front marker light to rear marker light in an anonymous accident, nice for them to leave a note, if they had. cost 3200. first week i had the car 400miles once again in the same parking lot one week out of the shop hit again 575. once again another trip to the body shop taking 15mi curve @80= pinball efect on 5 trees 5050.60. staying sober "priceless". as for the ins. company if you can some how pay for it yourself do that. i claimed the two big ones above and raised my preim. 100 a month. think about it. robert

dang guys.... 2-3k is way too much.. for that I my as well buy that wide body kit and have it painted and installed... It would totally cover up the rear quarter panel damage

too bad it looks like crap

So your getting a wide-body kit, minus the body right? That will look sweet when the whole side of the car falls off from rust and bondo. Nice way to ruin a $17K plus car.

Give the guy a break; he's just brain storming.

By the way, there has to be bare metal for it to rust, and since I don't see any in the picture it would be about impossible for that to happen.
