Sticking with not lowering my car I want to upgrade the tires. I think I'm going to stay with stock wheels for awhile and maybe get some 15" OZs down the road. Will 205 55 15 tire add more wheel gap? I searched but had no luck. Thanks. I'm thinking either Toyo Proxes T1s, Continentals, or Yokes.

it will decrease overall diameter ever so slightly. by 8.5mm to be exact. that is not going to be visible to the naked eye.

wider tires also help reduce the apperance of wheel gap. I have 225/50/15 on my car, and wheel gap looks smaller b/c the tires are wider and come out farther.

Are you referring to 205/50's here? I was under the impression that 205/55 is actually about .5" taller diameter.

Look here on the tire-size-claculator-thingy (http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html)
