Hey...

I saw this rear strut bar at k-series.com

I am totally loving/considering it since it makes the usage of the truck space possible with the rear seats folded down.

I still want to know if it's as effective as strut bars that goes on top of the tower.

I am not the one who has this strut bar. I merely posted the pics from k-series.com

I am wondering though... if this bar can be converted in to more like three way brace and bolt it down to the chassis.

I have one, it helped a little, but not much. It's not something to die for.

A rear swaybar will give you much more noticible gains in this car...

a Rear upper strut bar wont hurt though.......

its all about the xbraces underneath the car though.........Jizzzzz

That isn't true. I did notice improvement in stiffness in the rear with the rear strut bar. And the car seen more willing to rotate its rear around corner. The bar in the pics is the cheap ebay version for $30.

I have mine hidden under the carpet.

I wonder if I didn't notice it much because I had a rear tie bar first...could be the reason...I noticed that you actually felt a difference, but you didn't have the tie bar at the time.

That's SSVR6's car... I picked one of those strut bars before it was installed...felt like a shower curtain hanger to me. :D

Yah I think the problem with the E-Bay bar is the bar material. Do a search... IIRC a lot of people have indicated that the bar isn't as stiff as it should be.

As far as design, I think the one shown is actually better than a bar that is attached to the top of the tower.

By attaching lower and touching the carpet, the flexing (downwards) of the bar is actually being limited by the trunk floor. If it was attached on top of the tower, it would bend more since the bar's flexing isn't being stopped by the floor. Also it would take less force to bend the bar if it was placed on top of the tower due to torqing (sp?).

if money's a concern buy it, but if you have a bit of extra $$$ this bar by "mr. alex" seems allot better.

And it bolts not only to the upper strut bolts, but also to the rear floor.

yeah, I'd go for that one. It seems pretty good, and it hides under the carpet better, imo.

Yeah, that's my car and my site. :)

I noticed an immediate difference with that bar installed. While I agree, there are better units, you can't beat it for $20.

Ha ha ha. I didn't mean it in a attacking kinda way. But, I really think they need to redo their site. Image is everything... you know? I can't find anything in that site. Besides, it's full of this weird text -"Replace this with some text welcoming your guests to your web site or describe your hobbies or interests here".

Besides, I couldn't find anything about this strut bar thing.

I agree they do need to update their site more often.

I bought it when it was like 9.99. Shipping was $10 (or something like that.)

It was a little under $20.
