I've been trying to use my A/C the past few days... problem is... sometimes it blows COLD.... and then it just seems to turn off on it's own and get HOT as if I had cranked up the heat..... even while the A/C light is lit?????????????

that sucks.

you've done the idiot test and made sure the heat dial thing is turned to full cold, right?
