View Full Version : Humming noise coming from engine bay- normal?

while my engine is on... theres a - not loud but very distinct- humming noise... coming from around either inbetween the valve cover and airbox or somewhere behind the valve cover AND air box... but in that general area... can only hear it while the hood is up. it sounds like maybe a fuel pump? but i dont even remember hearing this before so i got worried...

am i alone?

I noticed the hum after I installed my CAI. I think it's normal but haven't heard a stock car in a while, so I dunno:(

After I installed my CAI, I bolted the plastic manifold cover thingy different than it was before and now it rattles ever-so-slighty (tried re-bolting a bunch of times and...still rattles!). I guess its not really a hum tho. Maybe you are just hearing a newly revealed frequency that the stock airbox/resonator were designed to drown out.
