After the body shop tried to blend my fender into the door for the 3rd time. It's still noticeable as 3 different shades of silver. Only option is to paint the whole passenger side of the car. It makes me sick to think about it, but they assured me it will be flawless. I never thought silver would be worse than black to own. :( At least dupont has a lifetime warranty on their paint. Fuck, all because of a small ding and cracked paint on the fender. Be careful about having minor body work done on silver. :'( I just have to live with it now.

That's not good to hear, my car is at Honda having the rear panel blended!:(

It all depends on who's making the paint. It could be lighter or darker then the original paint shade even though it's the same paint code. It's easier to blend while painting the entire side rather than just the fender. Hope it works out for ya.

my brother works at a body shop and to match that paint is hard. He says the temperature, sprayer, the way the painter paints plays a role. The best thing that can be done is to match it best as possible by blending. but i can gaurantee that it will not be the same color. sorry to be beare of bad news, but unless u paint the whole thing, paint will never exactly match. see ya.

geez what a headache that must be for you. I guess have them do whatever it takes to get it right-even if it means painting a side of the car

I went and checked out my car today. They did a really good job prepping it for paint. Every single molding is off and being replaced, the quarter glass is out. They're making sure everything is done correctly. As far as matching there are SEVEN!! different shades of satin silver. I was looking on clubrsx and most people who have had paintwork done to either silver or pearl finishes have had to have the whole side refinished. Modern paints=very complex colors to blend, you will always see the difference. Thanks for the support. They even got me a rental car, too bad the escort makes me miss my car even more. :'(

I am very sorry to hear about that :(
Do you have any pic's, before and after?

Joker- it's one of those things where if you look at it from different angles if will appear cloudy depending on the light. I'm pretty confident it will look perfect. Should I just leave the i vtec decals off? I think it looks better without them.

keep your chin up bro, it'll be worth it in the end. I at least got fogs & an extendeded warranty out of it all. Maybe you should at least ask for something like that to help mend the wounds.

This is an interesting topic. My g/f's '02 civic dx got hit 3 different times. She now has 4 colors of silver on her car and not much that can be done about it. Silver is the worst possible color to match. Sorry about your car. :(

i ran a body shop fora while and i am an "amature" painter. i didnt get the silver for that one reason. silver is so hard to match cuase there is so many shades of it. half the cars that come from the factory if you look hard enough at the silver you will see that some of the panels are difrent colors. i am getting my si painted right now, the r fender and door. hopefully we want run into any problems but we have most of the door to use for blend...

I got my car back today and it looks like it was never even hit. Courtesy Honda in Sanford FL did a great job!:D I was a little bit worried about them blending the paint, :o but it looks great!
