Hello, I have been lurking here for a while trying to decide if I should buy a 2003 white Si. The lowest price a dealer has given me is $17,761.23 out the door. This seems pretty expensive compared to what some of you have paid. I really want the car but am worried I am paying too much. Should I buy the car at this price or get something else?

That seems rather pricy to me... I'd look around for a new '02 if possible. If they aren't available, I'd make an offer. Are you paying cash, or financing? If you're pay cash, I wouldn't offer much more than $16,200, unless it has side airbags or some other dealer-fit options...

I am paying cash. Does that affect the price? I thought the dealer gets the same amount either way and the bank profits if you finance. I have got better quotes for new 2002's but noone can find a white one. The only options it has are si mats and mud guards.

try to go lower. I got my 03 for 16,900 back in December. And if you're paying cash, you should definitely go lower.

Id check out a 02 leftover. I got mine for $15795.00 with 1.9 financing.

Are you talking out the door or before tax? The quote i got was actually 16,900 before tax and fees. Thanks for the advice, I will respond with some lower prices and see if I can get them to move the price down. If I cannot get a lower price, would you say I should definately not pay $17,700? and look for a different car instead. I have found some 2002's for 15,000-16,000 but unfortunately there aren't any white ones left over around here. What is the difference between paying cash and making payments? Do dealers prefer one over the other? Thanks!

www.carsdirect.com is giving me an invoice of $17,821. How did you get such a low price? Is the internet trying to rip me off? I live in NC, should a car cost $1,400 more here?
