Alright Im pretty sure I know what this stuff is, and Im pretty sure I know how it works (in principle). The question I have is Does it work? How well will it work with a single 10 in a 3/4cu ft box made with 3/4in mdf and how much is required to make a difference if any, and what difference is to be expected?

depends on sub, you can ruien a subs sound with poly fill with that set up, or you can make it sound insane.

Basically, I usually try to trust my ears. Most of the time you will have punchier bass with little to no fill as compared to deeper bass with more. Try and find a pleasant mix in between. I usually try to fill the box 3/4 of the way with "fluffed up" fill. Also, try to spray the inside of the box with some automotive undercoating first. It will get rid of any resonation and work wonders.

polyfill pro's more box size without a bigger box
more natural sound
con's slighty lower spl
harder to tune if vented
what ever you chose use 1lb polyfill per 1cuft of box and you will get about the best results. I'd worry more about having a strong, thick, air tight box its way more important.
