Today around 2pm I Dyno'ed my EP with A2 at Cybernationmotorsports. Steve (SSVR6 K-Series.com) was there also, He was getting an Alignment done :D(Thanks for getting me lunch). I got in 5 runs and it was hot and humid as hell. The Dyno room was hotter than the outside hehehe. Thanks to Pete for hooking me up on the Dyno and Paul for getting me in there and getting me a deal :D Thanks guys. They got a tight crew there, always busy there.
I want their turbo kit Stage II, it's awsome. Even looked at the internals they would put in (Nice Stuff). Guess I'll be saving up for that.
I got it all on my Camcorder, just gotta transfer it to CD at work Monday and send it to Steve so he can host it on his site. Video around the shop, cars that were there (lotta turbo'in going on there hehehehe), my runs. Beware, I am a bad camcorder holder hahahahaha. Hopefully it will up for veiwing soon.
Best run

Worst run, only waited 1 minute from previous run.

Best I could do today was 177.2 whp and 126.1 wtq
Guessing that is about 220ish hp @ flywheel and 160ish tq @ flywheel. Isn't that the Type-R figures hehehe. Anyone who can do math/calculations on that, LMK and post it. Cuz I wanna know if that is close or correct flywheel hp and tq, TIA.:p

Get the hondata reflash!!! W/ the mods you have now you should be laying down a mid to low 14 i'd say? Stir hondata in and that'll be 13's :) Unless of course you're juicing.

BTW - nice numbers, and im jealous of ur swap :(

It was definitely cool to meet you man! I'll be back there in a few weeks myself getting their stage I. I need more power yesterday. ;)

Hope this pic is better

Just looked around at other companies dyno #'s Injen,AEM,Comptech theirs #'s are the same or higher than mine, even stock Type-S is really close to mine or exactly the same??? Are these companies fibbing, or dyno's different. What gives?

there are variations in some numbers with dynojet and other dyno's such as the mustang dyno (i think that's the one) plus i think there are others

what are you running in your car?

bioevolve

A2 motor/tranny/ecu Swap (Type-S)
ITR Cams
Hondata'ed ECU #4
DC Ceramic Heat Wrapped Header
AEM CAI
Hondata IM Heatsheild Gasket
AEM Fuel Rail
Denso IK24 Spark Plugs
2.25" custom catback exhaust

I think that is it for power gain products.

Figuring 20% drivetrain loss, your at about 212 hp (flywheel).
Sounds about right.

Who says that there's 20% drivetrain loss??? It's no more than 15% at the most and I'd think more around 13%.

Something is robbing some serious power - must be the weather??? Or their dyno is off or something....

Your making like stock a2 power w/ an intake

With those mods you should be doing 200+ hp to the wheels

conservatively.......

I'd say more like 185 to be realistic.

Hey Bio, before I ask my question(s), I just want to say that I'm not flaming your car!! I just think those numbers are a little dissappointing with everything that you have done. It looks like you have lost tourque and gained about 35hp from stock A3 which is great, but look at all of your mods it took to achieve that. Cams, Hondata, engine swap, header, heatshield etc. I know dynos don't tell the whole story, but you must have sunk a hugh chunk of money and effort into your car and it looks like you have achieved the stock RSX-S numbers with the exact same engine/tranny plus all the other goodies. Maybe I'm missing something?? I was thinking of going the swap route but not now. For $2600.00 the JRSC will apparently will acheive better numbers with a lot less work. Basically I'm new at this and I'm trying to get the most power for the lowest cost with reliability and driveabiltiy being paramount. Maybe these categories is where your car shines the most? Thanks for being a pioneer and showing us the results of your hard work!! Again, I am not putting your car and all of the effort that you have put into it down. I am just a little confused.

In Rich's defense, it was seriously hotter in the area where they were dynoing than it was outside. Here's a pic of what the dyno area looks like.

Guess I will have to try another dyno place to make sure if dyno's are different from each other. Hopefully that is the case.:( Basically I'm a test bed for us EP owners hahahaha A3 blown from N2O topped out. A2 swap w/ bolt-ons equals the same power. Next to come: A2 w/ internals and turbo in the EP. I need donations to test stuff out like this ;) one man's income can't do it all hahahah. I need a freaking sponsor:o

Were those numbers corrected? I have read elsewhere on this site where the atmospheric pressure and temperature can be calculated into the mix and make those numbers go up. Maybe they didn't do that for you?

bioevolve

I have no clue, the dyno sheets I have doesn't say corrected like the others I have seen on the net. That was my first dyno play time. Guess I better educate myself some more about dynoing and dyno packs.

Look at Injen's CAI Dyno on a Type-S ?!?!?!?!?!?! This is their Dyno'in is this questionable?

Here is Hondata's Dyno?!?!?!?!
http://www.hondata.com/images/k20baselinevstuneddyno.gif
AEM's Dyno
Says
Stock HP 167.7
Stock TQ 122.8
+ AEM CAI HP 180.2
+ AEM CAI TQ 128.3

I think that dyno just sucked ass - you should go somewhere else....there is no way w/ all those mods your making 177 hp to the wheels.....

I mean, even if that engine was pussy from the factory, it would still have a ton more power....

Just go to the 1/4 and make some runs....

screw dyno's - it all comes down to how fast your car is, not how many numbers a dyno says you put down

183 WHP w/ just ecu and a SRI. I think that bioevolve should gain a little bit more than just 2 WHP from type R cams, a full CAI, a header and a catback as major mods. Shit, just the hondata gasket alone should save more than 2WHP. Ive heard of numerous time of cybernation's dyno being off, but I think the heat also screwed you over a little too :(

Yeah, I looked at that thread before.
What gear are you supposed to be in when dyno'in?
Or should there be a standard like, a run in every gear to get an average? for a more true reading.
Well, I guess I will have to goto the track for kicks. To see what it will do. All this work to find the true facts:(
Anyone know where the nearest 1/4 mile track is to Ft Myers, F.L. ?

This gear works best for the ep3 tranny....

I'm assuming third for the 6spd tranny too

Usually its third -- sometimes fourth

I thought that Cybernation would have had a better dyno area than that. Maybe they have more than one? If not and all of their numbers are coming from that dyno and the numbers are consistantly low...does this mean the RSX they have actually makes MORE than 426hp?? But really, if you drive a type S and then your car, you could probably tell which is making more power. Is it possible that the DC header is choking the engine?

Rich, I'll be dynoing my car after I get the turbo put on. But I'll be doing it at another location. (One near the park we're having the BBQ at.) If you come down, we could schedule a dyno run on that day and see if your run was accurate or not.

Unforgetable has one for the RSX-S. The owner is working on one for the Si.

all kinds of things reduce dyno hp. you might just be comparing apples and oranges, for all you know some companys dyno the advertised gains on the best of best days and the best of the best dyno runs. not some shitty, hot day with no air flow in a dyno bay like you had to. maybe on a 60-70 degree day with ice on the intake and the right weather conditions you would see 200whp. and what about altitude wheels etc. that will change to.
