It's an engine torque damper, it reduces engine flex and transfers more power directly to the wheels. At least thats what I'm told....dat shiet is tite!!!

I know they sell them on ebay all the time, I think they also sell them on www.optauto.com

How's the engine damper working for you? Notice any dif.? You think it's worth the $200?

Car looks fantastic. Get some better pics and submit for ride of month!

Does the engine torque dampener cause major vibration in the cabin? Also would getting motor mounts cause more vibration?

good car all in all, keep up the good work.

02SilverSiHB - i ordered a rev hard kit

CivicHB - i found them for sale on ebay and just called the number on the post and ordered them. i think the place was called raceconcepts

ThickMick - engine dampner is pretty good. i havent messed around tightening it up as much as possible yet, but i have only gotten a very small amount of wheel hop once since i intalled it. i got it during the group buy so i got it for 185, but its seems worth the 200 to me. and i was ride of the month about a year ago, i dont think dth wants to pick the same car twice

limp_noodle - the dampner causes a small amount of vibration at low rpm's. my friend had the es inserts on his prelude and there was alot more vibration then this

sweet ride yo! one of my favorite rides. what kind of cf hood is that? do you think it will be hard to have a front upper strut bar because of the engine dampner's placement? i dig the dampner but i have a strut bar coming in soon and i'm not sure it will line up nicely if i get the dampner. is that plate super thick? i might just have to get a plate for the other side as well maybe... what are your thoughts?

xlr8

Civic03Si - the rails are for an 01 coupe, i just modified them so fit.

fishboy - im not real sure myself about the strut bar. the plate isnt real thick, probably no more then1/8-1/4". oh yeah its a vis hood, great, great fitment.

any chance you had time to get the wheels weight?

xlr8
06-23-2003, 05:31 PM
glw-i love these seats. they hold me real tightly and they look nearly stock. the reason i bought them is because mt head was real close to the roof, but not anymore.

Civicvtec1ps-if you wanted a ride all you had to do was ask and wait until the show was over. probably better you didnt ride it yet though. the boost was only at .32 bar no its at the full.45 its suposed to be and ive tuned the boost duty alittle, so it boosts quicker.

StrangeShadow-before i bought the wheels. marty at big bear tire put them on his scale. volk claims 14.2lbs, but all manufactures lie. they are 14.8lbs each, i believe that was with valve stems, but im not sure. by the way i put a stock rim on his scale and they are 19.6lbs, and almost all of the weight is on the face of the wheel
