hey guys. i said i'd get you some videos so here they are. first video is my 13.8 run...second run not so good...but trap speed was up there and i thought my burn-out was kinda cool :D

Mind you these are shitty shitty street tires...i guess you can tell by my lack of traction :(

Very nice! Some new tires will fix most of your traction problems.

wow I hear a CRAPLOAD of wheel hop on the 14.12 run...

definitely need stickier tires and some serious work stopping that engine from swinging back so badly...

Does the car have upgraded mounts and maybe a torque dampener?

JackHerer

i have the mount inserts in my car...too bad they're sitting on my passenger side seat! :'(

Will have them in soooon. Any of you guys want to swing by Street Dreams show in Detroit (Cobo Hall) this Saturday...my car will be there.

If anybody was having doubt about a turbo watching that should help them decide, cause thats the first vid of our car turbo charged and performing, Makes me wish I had no bills and could spend 4500 bucks.

I agree with that, if i never spent 1 grand on rims, 2 grand on stereo system, 4hundred for exhaust, and about 2-3hundred on other junk on the EP, i would be almost there! :(

Very Nice EP...!!!!

I totally suggest Ultimate Racing. Bunch of cool guys that take a lot of pride in their work! when my car was at their shop getting turbo'd they bought me lunch on several occasions, and the owner even gave me his 'loaner' civic to drive around cuz this is my only car! aside from that...just hanging out there is quite a sight...they have all these pimped out cars there....and not one of them is N/A haha! all turbo'd. bad ass if you ask me. :)

good runs, but I thought the BOV would be a little louder than that? Why is it when VW's rev theirs or older MR2's its almost piercing?

i hear sard makes a nice BOV.:)

actually the hks ssqv bov is pretty loud in my car. from my understanding, the hks ssqv has the best design...period. can't beat pull-type bov's. they will never leak boost.

most stock turbo cars that have a bov installed can rev their shit and hear a loud bov because their turbo is so teenie weenie. so whenever i hear that...i laugh :D

Where does the turbo kick in on the rpm's?

yeah, I hear hks is damn good for that. Another thing that people need to realize is that the sound is not what matters, but the function. Sometimes these BOV's that are aimed at sound suck for function

What's better is I'm sure that he can go faster over time and with some better tires.

2.3 seconds maybe? :)

stupid question:
it seemed like you did that burnout in 1st, then 2nd gear.
are you still on the stock clutch?!
if not what clutch are you using.

JackHerer
06-02-2003, 07:28 AM
my clutch was old and worn before i even put the turbo kit in. so i upgraded to an exedy clutch and flywheel. what difference that made. flywheel makes the car rev and boost up so much quicker.

nice...
got a link for the exedy stuff?
also, what did it cost ya?
i'm looking to do a clutch soon.
i dunno about the flywheel, usually a lightened flywheels is not reccomended for turbo applications...
makes the launch even more difficult...
what are your impressions w/ the clutch so far?
break-in? any slipping? pedal feel? any chatter? etc
thanks in advance!

yeah, I've heard the same thing about the flywheel with turbos. I guess if it isn't too light it can't hurt

woah...i dunno about that dyno chart. jrsc must've had one crappy civic because my BONE stock civic made 138whp and 120 ft.lbs on the stock dyno run. something looks fishy

your guess is wrong.
JR says 14.7 w/ the SC.
thats a full second off (10 car lengths in the 1/4 mile), at the same boost level.
:o

Yeah, I remember that video from way back in the day. Any updates on the reliability of the car. And I was also wondering if anybody else ever bought a turbo kit from the same company.
