I have made a personal dyno chart from combining Hondata's I/H/E chart and flashed 91 octane. Just by looking at their results, you actually loose a lot of low end torque and few HP at the low RPM.

I took their flashed 91 octane cyno chart data points and lay it over on I/H/E dyno chart. It should be very accurate TQ & HP since every 500 RPM points are taken and draw it on the paper.

The point I trying to get at is how people say Hondata makes more power when you flash your I/H/E setup compare to stock flashed 91 octane.

Am I just being skepticle or biased. I want to hear your opinion. Also I don't know why Hondata never posted this cyno chart at the first place.

At least Si has much better TQ and HP upto 6500RPM compare to Stock RSX-S. Only thing that Si is lacking here is higher RPM and I'm pretty sure that I/H/E Si can beat stock RSX-S.

So, if I'm reading this right...

The otherwise stock motor, with just Hondata flash and 91 octane fuel, makes noticeably better low-end torque, a bit more low-end HP, and a smidge less high-end HP than a motor with flash + I/H/E.

So, if that's correct, then how does the Hondata flash, 91 octane, and no other mods compare to the completely stock engine? For general, around-town, mostly mid-throttle driving, would it be best to forget the I/H/E and just get the flash?

Nobody said that engine tuning was an exact science, but companies are getting closer and closer... lol

WHT SI:

Your graph is a little off for the RSX-S at least.... Our VTEC engagement point is 6K, and 6K to 8100RPM is where we make our power (and stay in that powerband after every shift). So a stock RSX-S will still beat an Si with I/H/E + flash.
If you take into consideration the gearing and our power above 6K, theoretically, it would not be that much of a race if the Si is otherwise stock. With ES motor mount inserts and some sticky rubber, then it would be a better comparison. If you add even an Intake to the RSX-S, it wouldn't even be that close.[IMG]http://www.hondata.com/images/k20baselinevstuneddyno.gif

I have the flash and no other mods and the car is torquey as hell. Much better than stock because you have the low/mid gain and you feel it breathe eaiser on top as well. I love it and thought about being practical and just ending it at the flash for engine mods, but now I'm thinking "f*** it I bought this thing to have fun" so I'm prolly gonna go the I/H/E route soon.

Moding your car is like buying a porno mag, after you get one, u want another, than another, than another.....untill the mags are all over your room and u can't hide em anymore cause there's too many and ur wife comes home one day and finds one and is like "what's this" and ur like "that's not mine that must be Bob's. He must of left it here, that sick F***!" And she's like "I wanna divorce" and ur like "Honey, I'll change! I mean it!" j/k :)
