i have an optima yellow top from my other car and was gonna put it in the 03 hatch...can i just disconnect the battery with no problem? i also have the factory alarm. just wanna make sure so i don't get screwed and the car wont turn on or something... i'm sure it's just like replacing any other battery...

I dont know about the alarm, but the factory stereo has a 4-digit code to reactivate it. It should be on a little card you got with the car.

dont know if i am late on this or not...

if not cool, if so darn! :)

yes you can just take the old bat off and put the new one on...

only way i think anything would get tripped or not turn on right is if your car was OFF, and LOCKED, then you did the bat swap...

but if your car is OFF and unlocked with the alarm off you should be fine...

and for your factory headunit there should be a card from honda with a 4 digi code...if you lost it, you can call the dealership you got it off of and they will give you the PIN

Just wondering what the benefits of doing this are? Is this battery lighter, offer better cranking power, or something else? I have no idea, so please fill me in. Thanks.

nothing special...this battery IS bigger and was kinda hard to squeeze in. this came off my 94 accord. it was about the same height, but about 1 1/2 inches wider. so it fits in there TIGHT. i also had to relocate one of the ground wires where i mounted it under the battery brace.

you may want to check if that battery is rubbing your low side line for your AC(the one with the blue cap). I was goin to put my optima in mine too but it was resting right on the line, over time it could rub a hole in it. ( very expensive ). check it out.
oh and optima also makes a direct fit battery
for our car with i think 950cca.:D
