Making a new grill

just was wondering what you guys would think if i made a new grill out of ... ohhh say chicken mesh? what would you think?

what kind of materials would work and look good to make a new grill?

I think the stuffs called gutter guard, you can find it at home depot or your local hardware store, post pics if you go ahead with it.
