Seemed like an awful long time for just an install.

The car will be ready today however I have plans that are interfering with me picking the car up. Lee at Cybernation is trying to work it out so that he can deliver the car to me so that I can test drive it and stuff tonight. He's tuning the car now, and won't give it to me until it's making more than 240hp.

The time was due to hold ups from their suppliers and some of techs being out. An unforseen hold up.

Overall, I'm really happy with them. I just can't wait to drive the car!

:)

Some prelim numbers from Cybernation:

233whp with no tuning

259whp with tuning at 7/7.5psi and at 93 degrees ambient

One of their guys is running to get new plugs as I type this, Lee is expecting 5 to 10 more hp. Once I upgrade my exhuast, I'm anticipating 10 more hp.

Not bad at all...

I don't remember the torque numbers (I was on the phone with the owner as he was tuning the car, it was kind of hard to hear him.)

I can't disclose the total cost since my car is now sponsored by Cybernation Motorsports.

That being said, they can work with you on some of the parts that they use to save you "a few dollars" here and there.

yea...100hp over stock is about what i'd expect out of the k20a3 with 7-8 psi...
i don't see why 265hp would be a problem on k20a3 stock internals, as long as its properly tuned.
my old d16y8 (1.6L SOHC VTEC) made that on stock internals.
it's all about having the right combo...and being tuned properly.

This I already know, but it still adds stress to the engine which shortens life. IF you are gonna put that amount of money in turbo, might as well build up the motor, then you'll know it can take it. After driving it a bit, you'll want to turn up the boost anyways, this is a known behavior hehehehe. Besides it's 265 WHEEL HP, which is over 300hp @ the fly. My opinion is anything over 300 Fly hp, the engine needs build up if you want your engine to last.

ssvr6
06-14-2003, 07:50 PM
Final numbers after more tuning and plugs (don't know which ones yet) is 262whp and 208ft lbs. This is the most power they've gotten out of ANY Si and the torque comes on hard a 4200 and doesn't stop till redline.

They were in the process of dropping it off to me (I was unable to make to their shop) when they noticed a problem with the car going lean everyonce in a while. It's there now getting a new inline fuel pump installed. I should have it VERY soon.

I can't wait to drive it and see the dynos!

We all have our opinions...
Mine is that 265whp is fine on stock internals...
Again, i'll refer to my d16 making that much on stock internals...
I boosted 14psi for 45,000 miles w/o a single problem...
When I finally switched to a b16, the d16 still had great compression and showed no signs of letting go...
It's all in the combo and tuning...
That's why I blew my 00' B16A2 w/ only 2500 mi on it...
I rushed it...the tuning that is...ran 9 psi w/o dyno tuning, no wideband O2...nothing... (due to being broke at this point)...
1 month later...BANG! Crack, rather... Bye Bye ring lands.

PS: I know someone running 11 flat on a stock internal B18C1 making over 350whp.

"After driving it a bit, you'll want to turn up the boost anyways, this is a known behavior hehehehe." This is the reason for the build up. I know Steve is not gonna be at 265whp for long, he will want more and more power;) :p :D that is the issue I'm getting at:rolleyes:

It's your car that led me to calling cybernation;I talked to Eric over there and asked him if they could get the same results as you and they were 100% confident in getting me the same whp. For all that are interested in them their price is on their site, just add $850. for the install and that gets you air/fuel guage, boost guage, and v-afc all installed. they dyno tune your car ad hell they put together the turbo kit; I wouldn't want anyone else touching my car! I own a business and every thing I do I have 100% confidence in, and so do they!!! Unlike other companies who just sell you the parts that should work together, like revhard who in their add in this months import tuner, stresses the importance of air and fuel and then gives you the smallest injecters, and others that give you the biggest,so just what thehell is it going to be? These guys dyno tune the cars for you and build these hell rockets for themselves. The trust is there for me,and I can't wait to see there shop.
