Type-S swap

ok let me give you some backstory. i recently had my 02 ex stolen.... pretty fucked up but good nes is i got t back and the only thing missing were the motor and tranny.....so i got i greatr idea.. well it was actually my mom's idea (wierd lady that one) and i was wondering how much a type s motor swap would run me total. incl. labor parts etc. thanks for your help

You should be able to find a low mileage K20A2 with trans for about $3 to $5k. Labor depends on what's being done.

well i really dont know what all would need to be done but i was figuring in everything needed to do the job

As SSVR6 said $3k-$5k for complete swap + freight
$600-$1k for labor
$400-$650 for HAS motor mounts
so far, I cant think of anything else. There is probably more check with 7thgencivic's site.

Your mom is cool!:cool: My wife thinks the idea of replacing the motor in our new Si is the most ridiculous thing she has ever heard of. I am going to be limited to bolt-ons and mods to the A3 for a while.:(

yeah thanks my mom is a car nut. she's the one who got me into all of this... she just trade in her jeep for an s2000 too about a week ago. and he wont let me drive it till she breaks it in. crazy old lady.

You'll love driving the S2K when she lets you. My father has one and the way that baby screams from 6-9,000rpm is awesome.
