I was at the light last week when a new 2003 (blue) Civic Si rolls up next to me. The guy driving must have been twice my age (i'm 25) if anyone cares, what was shocking was he had stock wheels but they where chrome plated? Was this an option? because I don't recall seeing any like this out of the seven that had been on the lot when I got mine, also nowhere in the borcher does it list chrome stock wheels as options like they do for Accords and CR-V's. Does anyone else out there have a set on their car? I would really be interested if anyone wants to sale them.

I don't think that was an option-maybe they were dipped.

Gosh they looked great, but I could not see someone spending approx $200 per wheel to have that done on the stock 15"s again this car was all stock, still had the paper dealer tag on it. I mean If it is aftermarket, thats great, but I think I would have used the $800+ bucks to upgrade the rubber, mabey Azenis, or Dunlop SP9000K's or Potenza RE750's

I swear these are the wheels I saw on the car, I got this photo from a Honda sponsored site, so they must be an option? I think if I could have gotten this color combo with those wheels I would have.

benz, bmw, REAL SUV's need chrome, try to keep the si looking clean without all of the soft "bling " look. but then again its your $ and do what you got to do.

the press shots of the us si

were actually a jdm spec Type R watered down because the us spec wasn't done

if u look close the "us si" has 5 lugs ;)

and some dealer might have chromed the stock rims

do i get a scooby snak for solving the mystery?

I guess I don't see your train of thinking here...I think that the Bling Bling look is played out on even the cars, trucks & SUV's aforementioned, but have always felt that chromed stock wheels really enhance the look of a car, if not give it a bit more substance. I liked the stock chrome 15"s that came standard on my then '97 GS-R, I don't see and feel how Oem chrome 15's are remotely close to giving the car a bling bling presence?

I think it gives the car a more up-market premium compact look, almost like an Audi A3 hatch, GTI or similar. I have seen RSX's with the same treatment to the stock wheels, very upscale looking and nice. Now if they were 18" or 20" I would argue in favor to the Bling bling comment.

I think the guy probably bought one of the honda optional chrome wheels. They sell them as an option at my honda dealership. It's not the exact wheel as the stock si rim but they sell a few that could take the place of it in chrome.

I dont think they were dipped in chrome they were probably polished they look like chrome but they are just polished alloy
and it would cost around $400 and you dont have to dismount your wheels ;)
