well after having my cars springs clickin for as long as i remember i finally jacked it up on stands and spray it down with WHITE GREASE (WD40 sprayer type) while doin some other mod on my car
all i can say is about 4 seconds of sprayin the car no long clicks!!!
its so easy to fix!! jus jack up ur clickin car, spray down the springs and shock tower in the wheel well as much as you can and BAM no more clicks!!

clickin when you?......mines click when I turn the wheel. gets pretty annoying, gonna bring it to my friend's shop and get the mofo fixed. As for spraying...... it isn't really a pernement fix right? gotta keep doing it over and over when it clicks again.

do you guys have coilovers? of so, chances are you aren't using the factory bearing ring. without it, your springs will not turn with the strut, thus giving you the noise. in some cases it's practically glued to the OEM upper spring perch, which makes it look like part of the spring perch, which is why it's easy to misplace.

Ok just wondering why do we have to grease when we lower are car? Are the factory ones lubed up? I am just wondering if there is anything after market to buy that would make it so we would not need to grease up.

Thanks

can you show us pics of the bearing ring? can it be put back on if one just buys lowering springs instead of coilover sleeves?

well, i haven't taken apart the suspension on an EP yet (hopefully i will have the oppurtunity to next week :D) , but here's a pic from a 2002 EX, surely it's similar:

and here's a picture of the upper spring perch, you can see where it used to be by how clean the center is:

check and make sure that part is being used with your coilovers!

edit: here's another reference, the bearing ring from a 2001 EX. this one is just a plastic circle with suspension grease (lithium probably) spread on it:

I got Tein S-tech springs and I did the WS40 trick, it does work, but it came back like 2 weeks later.

that last pic, just grease the mating surfaces between those two parts with some sort of lithium grease. I just used the lithium grease I have in my gun for lubing the chassis on my mom's van. Never heard a clicking sound. :D

it's so simple to do.

I'm not to good with removing the strut/spring, so it's hard for me to do that.

You wanna know why only the passenger side spring "clicks"? If you take a look at the AC line, it is directly above the passenger side strut. When you turn on the AC, water condenses and drips all over the strut. The bad thing is that the water just sits there. When it finally dries up, it will dry along with the mass of grease you slap on there. So it really doesnt matter how much grease you put there, it will be worthless as long as your AC line drips water all over it every time you turn on the AC. Solution? Cover the strut opening or prevent the water from getting there, then grease the suspension up(it also helps when you spray some rubber undercoating on the springs and such after the install).

WD40 wont work becuz it always dries up
i use white grease but the spraying type, i jus jack up my car and spray at the top of the strut

chunky, you're talking about the partial coilovers right? I think my coilovers came pre-assembled with the shock and upper part already intact.
