I would get a new car, with new smell, virgin for you to feel and touch and to custom to your taste. Not taking someone's else project used car...

After buying my EP new, I would not settle for anything less than a new car in the future. All miles on my EP is 99.9999% mine... 0.00001% was because of dealership and my darn friend who jealous and wanted to drive her!

damn man. that was a nice jetta man. your the one who wreck in the cayon right? well i WOULD go with the 00 si but its been out and people have done this and that to it and its all figured out. the EP still has lots of room to grow. If your going to take some time to get all those upgrades then sickness but if your going to have the 00 si all fixed up in like 1 month then what you gunno do with it then? Maybe you should hold out for a STI if its in your price range.

like i said earlier, if that is what you really want, then do it. its just hat the 00si has had its glory days, but now there are bigger and better things out. kinda like yesterdays fad. Why not get a faster car out of the box, and brand new, and mod that?

Same or less amount of money of a new car, the 00 SI will be a much faster car. Plus he is having it built the way he wants it. Double wishbone stills remains supreme as opposed to the Mcpherson squeeking suspension.

you could always go with a GTI. Heck, you might be able to find a WRX for $17,000. The old SI looks too plain in my opinion

true. but he doesnt necessarily have to go the honda route. in other words take your time and explore the possibilities:)

but the truth of the matter is how many of you guys dont turn your head when you see the "DOHC VTEC" stickers on an si as it passes by or get whiplash from scoping out the EBP si across teh street...

hmm. . . 11:1 compression and stage 2 cams and then only a v-afc to tune it?

wtf? i'd figure something like hondata, haltech, aem ems or something. . . but a v-afc?

that car probably runs like shit and isn't making anywhere near the power it should
