Ok.... took out the passenger's side seat today and now my SRS light is on..... I DON'T have airbags in the seat..... however I learned there is this thing connected to the seat belt lock that pops a charge when you get in a wreck to tighten the belt.... but all things have been reconnected and I removed both the fuse for the SRS and the ECU fuse... and it won't go out.... any ideas????

Similar thing happened to me, G-J learned me about it. Here's the thread: http://ephatch.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15417.

I had the same problem when my stereo was installed. All fixes that you will find for earlier model civics WONT work to reset your switch.
Make an appointment with the dealer to have your oil changed, when you get there act dumb and say your "SRS light came on, what does that mean?" They will do the diagnostics and reset it for you for free. Other wise the dealer charges $80 to reset it.
Hope this helps:)

Assuming the safety system isn't actually messed up, the fix I pointed to does work. Or at least it worked for me. And yes I do have an EP3, not an EG or EK or anything like that.

SRS fix (http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=264288)

Unsure if that would help. G-J's instructions were nice n' detailed, I just posted the link as a reference;)

So you guys got the fix to work? I tried two different fixes ( search for SRS and a couple of fixes pop up) but both did NOT work:( I sure hope that there is a fix that does work so that you'all dont have to visit the stealership:D

So you take out the plug and short it with the wires and then turn the ingition to II. What happens after that? Does the light just stay on or does it go off and come back on later?

ive now got the same prob, went to get my stereo installed, they mananged to keep the SRS light off, went back to get new speaks put in, now i have SRS light on, 1 missing seat bolt, and a minor scratched dash right by the AC button.

They are paying for me to have my dash fixed, paying for a new seat bolt, and im going to Honda on Mon, and they are going to pay for the SRS light to be reset too. The one good thing about having someone else at a shop do the work, they mess it up, they fix it

Yes, anyone w/ this problem should follow the instructions in the thread above (quoted).

Took me 2 mins to shut off my SRS Light.

Good shit.
