Honda filter and oil till4500 had free first oil change. Then at 8000 used honda filter and motorcraft blend 5w-20. for the next few oil changes. At 15000 i went with 0w-30 mobil 1 because couldnt find the 0w-20. Now at 26000 i use honda filter and mobil 1 0w-20.

i went right around 3000.

i use the bosch filters. if you want the oversize application - use the size for the b-series motors. if you want an OEM sized one, use the size for the regular 2002 civic and up.

The dealer will put in any oil you gave them. I did my first oil change a little over 4000.

Is the Redline synthetic or conventional? Any noticeable differences? Do you still need to top it off every now and then?

First change at 300 miles. Why? There are still lots of metal shaving inside the engine when it is made. They don't help you clean out 100% of the small metal shavings when they cut the engine. Makes sense?

Those that are using the 5w-20 weight oil should check out this article:

Ford & Honda's 5W20 Debacle EXPOSED! (http://www.syntheticoiltech.com/oil/jdupp/ford5w20.htm)

I found it interesting. I'm using conventional Pennzoil 5w-20 right now in my bro's 02 Accord but in a few thousand miles when it hits 10K, I think I'm going to switch to Amsoil 5w-30 Synthetic and one of their filters.

The change interval when using Amsoil is 7,500 miles or every 6 months for both their filter and oil, whether you'll feel safer using the 5w-30 or the Honda recommended 5w-20. Sounds like good stuff.

http://www.amsoil.com/products/xl7500.html

On the first link I posted, there is a test they did against Mobile 1 that showed how they surpassed them in all independent tests. There is also an article on how most companies (including Castrol and even Mobil 1, which surpised me) label their oil as "fully synthetic" when it actually isn't:

http://www.syntheticoiltech.com/oil/jdupp/AutoIndustry'sBestKeptSecret.htm

Either way I think that whole site is a good read.

Enjoy! :)
