Go to progressive.com and fill out an insurance quote. Skip
the VIN and other things that are specific to a car, and you'll
get an idea of what you might pay if you were to have your
own insurance. Call your parents policy holder (I'm assuming
you are on theirs) and ask for a quote on an Si. Other peoples
insurance prices are going to vary wildly, and the only way to
come close is to check your own.

From what I've seen, people are paying anywhere from $14K
(for an '02 rotting on a lot somewhere) to $18K (on an '03) in
the recent months. I've been offered $16.4K for an '03 - granted,
this is the car price, and not the "out the door" cost.

Paid $17,400
Insurance is $850 every 6 months
thats with 2 tickets and I'm 20 years old.
Recently got a third ticket and I'm waiting for that to go through and see how it affects me. USAA might drop me, so ill be switchin to progressive, they quoted me at $1,100 per 6 months.

ep i am searchin right now. Doin some crazy car shoppin. Right now i have a price of 19460(sticker,and not out the door) that is from the first place i went to. It will take me about 2-3 weeks to get a price i want.

Insurance was easy. Right now on my own plan i would pay 1,855 every 6months(20years old, clean record. no claims), when i turn 21(in aug) it will go to 816!! Every 6months thru Allstate.:D

Just to let you know, you will get raped on ur SI for insurance, unless you are with your parents, but it will still probably be high:rolleyes:

the discount for low mileage travel can be around 15%. Also would depend on where your car is considered to be 'parked' on regular. Also dependent on who holds the policy, how many cars versus family members in a policy....and all that fun shit..just enjoy yours:cool:

Yes, keep hammering away at them. Especially if they have a few
Si's on the lot.
I have two dealers quoting me $16,400 right now. I'm definitely
going to have them battle it out to see who can get me under
$16 here shortly.

Don't forget deductible for collision and comprehensive makes a huge difference.

Also, if your buddy is on Progressive and it is super cheap, it doesn't mean it will be for you too. Unless you live on the exact same street.

I'm 30, clean record, and with a multi-policy discount (house), I'm paying $120/month. That's with $100 deductible on comprehensive and $500 on broad form collision (Michigan has something they call regular collision which is cheaper).

Also depends on where I live as well and how many miles I drive etc.

So, it is not as simple as asking how much everyone is paying for insurance on the Si. You'll get answers like $50/month (high deductible) to $17,000!!! Haha

I leased mine, but it works out to about $17.5 and 1.9% interest over four years + the $9Kish buyout at the end. Lease wound up being cheaper than buying. Crazy.

Insurance on mine is somewhere around $100/mo, really good liability + $500/deductable collision + $100 deductable comp, 25 and no tickets at State Farm in michigan. Ah the benefits of a clean record, rural state and being with the same ins. company for 8 years. :)
