I think I'm sold on this. This will be a lot cheaper than having my FMIC anodized black and it doesn't look that bad.

I'll have to check out Ebay for it.

Thick gauge steel
Powder coated (much more durable than paint)
you might have to cut it to fit with foglights. idk..

Yeah, I have done business with them before. They make some excellent grilles. I'm still waiting for my grille to come. I ordered the race style too. Here is a pic of my old 2000 v6 Accord with the diamond grille. Tell me what you think..

Thanks for the head up,Civicvtec1ps. I need those, saw how those darn rocks damaged my radiator fins... Not too happy about that.

For the heck of it I e-mailed the guy who is selling these on e-bay to see if there is a way to get the grill to work witht the OEM fog lights. I will see what he e-mails me back with.

Same here. The guy that sells these things did have a groupbuy a while back (6 months ago)...do search and maybe you can email him for a better deal than the eBay deals. I actually got mine for less than what they sell for on eBay and what his groupbuy price was...I got a lucky when bidding on it on eBay. :)

This is what I got back for grill tech.

Hello Neal:

As promised, I have consulted with one of our Technical Specialists regarding your below inquiry.

He advised me to tell you that our below grille insert will not work for models that have fog lights.

With kind regards,
Kristina

yea i used zip ties. not sure i like the look anymore after having it a couple weeks. i can't stand seeing the zip ties. why did you all remove your bumpers? i installed mine with the bumper on the car. also, how did you all tie the far left and right of the grill. there's nothing on the far ends to zip the grill to so it doesn't sit tight against the car(which bothers me).

Well, see.. Thats why I took off the bumper. :D The package come with 10 zip-ties ans 2 screws to secure it. But I didn't feel it was nessacery to drill into the bumper. If you look at your bumper, you will notice there are slits on both sides of the factory grille. When I first looked at it I was like man, this is going to be a pain in the ass! The reason why I decided to take off the bumper was so that people couldn't see the end of the zip-tie from the outside. So there would be less visability. This is how I did my Accord. So after I took off the bumper, I notice the factory grille had little slits in it and it wasn't a solid piece. So I inserted 3 zip-ties, one on the left, one on the right and one in the middle. Here are some pics.

got a question though, that styrafoam (sp) around the grill, is that hard or soft? does it retain water?

just curious to how that would effect the clear coat with a wet foam on it all the time (rains way to much around here).

Zigen5
07-01-2003, 02:26 PM
No, its not styrofoam.. Its like a rubber gasket to keep the grille from scratching the paint. I live in Florida and it rains alot here... ;) Awhhh I just forgot... Since I have the grille now, I won't be able to put on my car bra anymore........ :'( Oh well, thats why they gave me more than one zip-tie... LoL..

Wasn't interested until I saw all the rocks and bugs that were stuck in my radiator and condensor. Has anyone had one of these long enough to see how it looks after a couple years?

I had mine for about 8 months now. I had to cut holes in it to get my lisence plate on. Live in NY it's a must. So I say after 8 months that its ok, not as shinny as was but its still ok. I have the diamond grill silver.
