how big of tires?

i am thinking of either gettin 16s or 17s, and i was wondering what is the widest tires that will fit?. im thinking of a 45 series tire so would 215 or 225s fit?

I think there are several people here with 215/45/17 but I'm not sure about 225's. If you did try to go with a 225 you would want 225/40/17, the 45's would be too big in diameter.
