OMG Niko i am so sorry. i know nothing i say will take the pain and anger away....i dont even know what to say.

I am very sorry for you and your friends loss....i will pray for you and her family/friends.

and yeah that jackass will get caught, hit and run homicides are not taken lightly....they will get the bastard and it wont be God that deals with him, rather a more heinous entity.

The fact that they ran was murder, he/she will pay and will be caught.

I am so sorry man - my thoughts and prayers are with you and your friends & family.

I agree 100% with you about those drivers - venting like this is good, because hopefully you will shock some of those people into slowing down.

Again, God bless you, your friends and their family.

God I hate to hear about stuff like this...

I don't want to even HEAR about any of us on this board doing something like this! Remember, that the street you are racing along on might have kids on it... You might be willing to gamble your own life on your driving skills, but PLEASE, dont gamble the lives of others.

You do not know how heartbreaking it is to be on the scene of a child who gets killed in a car accident. Words simply cannot even begin to describe that terrible feeling.

For God's sakes people, keep it on the fukkin' track! Don't dare speed in ANY residential area. If you MUST speed around, keep it on the highways where the kids aren't playing.

I am so sorry. This is why I race at my local track now. I have that need for speed, but now I have chaneled it so that I take it out on the track. When I have thought of some of the dumb ass things I have done in some of my cars I am lucky I did not do some kind of dammage to someone or something.

I had a friend of mine who lost his sister to a young teenager punk driver. The punk was doing 90 km/h in a 60 km/h on a public street when she was crossing a cross-walk and all other traffic stopped for her on the street, however he didn't and hit her, she died instantly, flying back 45 feet and hitting a car in the on coming lane were she was left on the hood, until the medical unit arrived.

It was a very huge tragic accident for her, she was 22, had a great personality. Was beautiful in everyway and was attending med school to become a doctor.

All that ended when the childish driver decided to drive awful.

I feel your pain bro, I really do.....

I can confirm this - drivers here in Jersey are total a*holes - the worst I've seen are Indians/Middle Eastern people. Otherwise I don't have problems with them but when it comes to driving they totally stink

that's some bullshit.

hit and run is like the most cowardly thing ever.

anytime you speed you're rolling the dice.

I'm not gonna stand here and say I never speed, or that I never drive agressively.

But i'm not so naieve as to think that i can be a "crazy 'safe' driver."

We all take risks, but it's sad when you take the choice away from other people. I never drive like a fool with people in my car. I couldn't live with myself if something happened while they were in the car with me. Even when I'm alone, I'm always thinking of what I would do if i wiped out and hit someone else. it keeps me sane(r).

anyhow, my regards to those who have lost a sister, daughter & friend.

I saw 3 car accidents from crazy drivers in Jersey today on the way from the beach. I drive slower and take my time. It's unfortunate.

I am with you when I did more dumb ass thing the only time I did them for the most part was when no one else was close to me, but most of all 100% I was the only one in the car. Now I have stoped doing this and just have been at the track so I can have fun going as fast as I want and with out hurting others that do not know the dangers of being on the track.

Good!

I hope they nail the bastard to the wall!

The fact that he did it with a business car doesn't bode well for him... At the VERY LEAST he will probably lose his job and driver's liscence.

Hopefully, he will get prison time and a criminal record over this. Now that he is caught, HIS LIFE will never be the same.

Having an "On the Road" forum to post "kills" (ironic, isn't it?) promotes this kinds of speeding and reckless driving.

"We drive to a nearby road..."
http://ephatch.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16497
"ANYWAYS, we get about 4 races from a light..."
http://ephatch.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16004
..."darting in & out of traffic..."
http://ephatch.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15582

I have seen more "cops pulled me over" threads lately, so that's good. Maybe now cops will stop "being cool" and start "ticketing out the ass" so these dipshits learn what they're doing is going to hurt or kill someone some day.

Sorry for the loss. My heart always goes out to someone who's lost a person close to them.

Man, that is some sad stuff..

I am an OFFENSIVE Driver here in Minneapolis.. I am aggressive in the way that I like to be in the open so I manuever to get away from cars as much as possible.

I really don't speed at all unless I am on the Highway and that's when it's more empty.. Sunday afternoon crusing at 75-80 type thing..

There are SOME PEOPLE who believe they are in a race with everyone else out on the ROAD..

HERE's a CLUE for those people..

NO ONE KNOWS YOU'RE RACING EXCEPT YOU!!!!!!!!

Do you honestly think that cutting people off at 80 when they are doing 55 is impressive??????

Hey.. I like a good run at 100 MPH just like most others but if I am doing that, it's usually because I can't see anyone else on the road..

Those people that drive fast and dart in and out of traffic with no Signals and such.. To tell you the truth, I hope they get it someday.. I hate'em..

Driving is SERIOUS folks.. IT's not a damn Video Game. IT's Fun, just as flying an F-14 Tomcat or f-22 Raptor would be fun..

Guess what though??? No fun unless you know and follow the rules, other wise you DIE..

Just because we are on the ground doesn't mean we are SAFE! That's been proven.. Air is the safest way to travel and that is because of the amount of Attention to DETAIL!!! That's ALL!

A plane is not mechanically safer than a CAR.. The people who operate them are more mentally sound and concerned with what you can and cannot do..

People get into cars and literally think they are suits of Armour..

Get a clue!

Do you remember the concept of freedom of speech? Just because this site allows people to talk about it does not mean it condones it.
MOST of the people here, i like to believe, are responsible and not involved in stupid driving like the idiot that caised this crash.

Only the owner can say what's allowed and what's not, so you have NO freedom here unless it's granted by the owner. By having an "On the Road" forum to post "kills" (nobody sees the irony, sad as it may be?) the owner is condoning street racing. And before you start screaming "freedom of speech" maybe you should learn the fucking constitution and bill of rights. YOU HAVE NO FREEDOM IN A PRIVATE PLACE.

2. You're right... of the 2,300 or so members only a handful post that kind of "went looking for a race" crap. I hope they die in a single-car accident.

3. again, mixedupneko, sorry for your loss.

Freedom of Speech..

1. It states that you must be allowed a FORUM for your views to be heard.. THat's ALL.. It doesn't say you can run down the street all night Yelling FIRE..

Private institutions can put any control on media that they feel is neccesary.. If you feel this is against your rights, you have the right to voice it to an alternate community that may be able to affect some change..

People keep Whining and yellling about Freedom of Speech..

Tell me this... .

Will you get canned from work if you receive and actively search for PORN??

Yep.. Because your work enviornment is PRIVATE and all communication VIA their infrasctructure is PRIVATE as well meaning they can make ANY RULES they want on it's usage. Just as you can tell people to take off their shoes when they come into your house.. IT's YOUR right.. The person can't use Freedom of Expression as his/her reason to dirty your home with their shoes..

If you are going to invoke the FOS plea, please read it and understand that no where does it say you can openly say anything you want at any time.. IT specifically mentions that you are to be offered a FORUM to voice your opinions..

That's all.

i think this is a very good thread. it reminds us that there are consequences for bad decisions, and there are many people affected by bad decisions. I personally will probably stop speeding at 3 am in the morning like i used to. You can never be 100% sure.

It's when you believe you are the SAFEST that something comes out of the blue and let's you know that you aren't in control of a DAMN thing..

Control is perception not reality.. Some people have to learn that the hard way..

2k3BlackSI, IownAmaxima, and gpt:

COOL IT.

This is a sad thread... Don't ruin it by turning it into a flame war.

This forum went without an "On the Road" section for a time... But people would then post their stories in the "EP General Discussion" section.

Trust me... Neither DTH, the Mods nor ANY of the fine people responsible for this site condone street racing. More often than not, people are flamed for street racing.

Now, admittedly, there are a few instances of impromptu races on a unpopulated backroad and highway "kill" stories. But I truly believe that hardly ANYBODY here would be so ignorant as to race in a residential area.

If there is... I invite them to STOP immediately... Before someone gets hurt.

im really sorry to hear that. i have bee driving a little slower lately myself on public roads because i dont want this to happen to me plus in north hollywood a week or so ago a couple kids in an RSX Type S were street raceing in a straight line and i guess the kid hit a bump and he didn't know how to control his car so he ended up in a pole killing himself and his friend that was with him.

it's sad and all i can do is drive a little slower to show that i care. good luck to you i hope they find the guy who did it.

Stop with political correctness. If someone is wrong, I tell'em and I would hope they do the same for me..

I have no issues with being incorrect but I HATE when people start spouting off about the Freedom of Speech and haven't even READ the document.

I didn't even mention anyone by name as you did.

Sorry for your loss. And that's what this thread is for... calling attention to stupid driving and the consequences. I congratulate you (and anyone else) who didn't have to touch the stove to learn the lesson.

SiR Medic, so I called out a few frequent offenders by name and corrected someone's misconception about freedom of speech. Big deal.

What happened is sad, when it happens again it will be sad, but the tragedy is probably right now someone on this board is "on the road" going a 110 and thinking "I can't wait to post THIS story!!" It's only a matter of time before the "On the Road" forum has an "ephatch member is dead" thread.

on a lighter note, i believe there should be more places with easier access to tracks, cheap and open "safe" areas for cars to race. Me and my friends get sooo bored so we do stupid stuff. Idle hands are the devil's playground. If we had something to do that didn't cost much we would be smarter. The legal race program or whatever has no parts in NJ that i've seen.

Damn idiots. I hope he burns somewhere (hell and god does not exist to me, never will)

ya know what also pisses ME off? When people that drive THE FUCKING SPEED LIMIT....kill people on the road. PAY attention asswipes.

My cousing got ran over by a large buick by a reverend on his way to church going 45 in a 45 because the dumb shit wasnt paying attention and did not stop. Stop molesting boys and maybe that wouldnt have happened to ya, ya dickhead!

There's always the police? Ahh...ive seen them kill as well...during high speed chases. 18 people so far here. do THEY get in the news? newp.

The gramma that ran over the mom and her two kids on a crosswalk because she could NOT fucking see OVER the steering wheel....STOP DRIVING, IDIOT. She got off scott free by the way. Just cuz she's old.

There were a few hundred deaths here last year due to people not paying attention on the road. only about 30 or so due to other stuff, mostly drunk driving.

If you drink..you are inadvertantely helping the people that cause the largest amounts of death on the roads today.

If you dont drink...if everyone didnt drink....alcohol companies would faulter......no more drunk driving deaths. It's as simple as that but nooooooooooooo eeeeeverybody wants BEER and BOOZE.

The next time you take a sip, remember, you are supporting a company that supplies death to the roads of the world.

Have a nice day.

I have no time for street racers, never have, never will, but by having a forum where they can post on this site, they visit this site and (hopefully) read threads like this one which shows the reality of speeding on public roads - that is why I think that having the "On the Road" forum is a good thing.

I won't post anymore on this because I do not want to promote a flame war especially on a thread about such a tragic event.

Again, my sympathies go out to the family of the victim of this terrible accident, and to all her friends.
