Here's the scoop...

At work, we've been without a union contract for 1 1/2 years. Our new contract should be out soon and I should get between $1K-$3K in retro pay...

I'm definately gonna buy a new laptop, but I'm also thinkin' about new rims, especially since I may be able to trade my stockies for a Cdn OEM SiR GFX (CTR type) wing! (long story).

Anyhoo... I'm lookin' at suitable wheels, I want cheap, light-weight wheels. 16" or 17", but 16" might be better for price and weight. Saw these on eBay, and I would like your opinions.

They're cheap(US $335.00), fairly light (14.8lbs) and I like the gunmetal/polished lip look.

Here they are... (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=43956&item=2421005280)

ADR C-pro....cheap and light.
Just dont expect a top quality wheel and you'll be happy.
Put ADR's on my wifes CR-V and havent had any problems w/ them.

I like them, but I would definately go with 17's. Just incase you want to do a big brake upgrade sometime in the future.

If you go with the 16's (they look good btw), you will likely want
to do something about the brakes. I would suggest a caliper
paint kit from tirerack.com

If you go to 17's though you will definitely want to upgrade
the look of the OEM brakes. I am going to upgrade mine to
wilwood's. They seem to be the best kit out there for the money.;) Good luck!

I really like those wheels. I've been thinking of getting the Rota Subzeros that look identical to those but they cost a little more and they are "bronze". I'm thinking I'm going with 16" this time around so I think I'll pass on the polished lip. It looks great on the 17" but I think the 16s might look too small. Anyone have any pics of the 16's with polished lip? I would like to see how they look. Also, do you know the weight of the 16" rim? Thanks:cool:

They look gorgeous! I've been holding out on getting my 16" Gm Slips for my Silver EP because I wasn't sure on how they would look. I'm impressed! :p :p :p

Great looking rims! Like you said, cheap and light. I think I would go with the 17's and at that weight the 17's would probably still be plenty light enough to maintain performance.

Part of the reason I am considering 16"s instead of 17"s is that anything over 16" is subject to a special "tire tax" that would increase the price even more.:(

I currently have no plans to go for a big brake kit, I'll probably upgrade with Hawk pads and maybe slotted front rotors in the stock size.

I still might go for 17" though!;)

Well, I have the Hawk pads here (all 4 wheels). I was going to go with
just slipping them in and paint the calipers. So I have a caliper paint kit
too. (all from tirerack)

I just went out a bought the wilwood kit with the braided lines,
so the pads and paint can go. Let me know if you decide to stick
with the 16's.;)
